I’m white and I know that the systematic oppression and abuse of black people is nothing like being called ginger, or fatso, or strawbletooth.

If you are African American all your “Blackity-Black moments” are being performed in the heart of an institution/structure which enforced white superiority, imperialism and even gave its blessing to those who enslaved your ancestors.

Yet the haters that have been up these threads pointing to that one article like “Markle’s not Black!” are going to stay mad and lips puckered. If you don’t have faith in Markle’s Blackness then you don’t have faith in Black mothers. I remain steadfast in my claims...Black culture is carried with Black women.

so, you respected the office and not the man while obama was president right?

juuuuuuuust making sure.

Define “healthier”. What a lot of people who are anti-carb don’t get is carbs tend to be less dense but more filling calories. So I’m theory if you had that burger with a bun you would eat less of it. Plus carbs are not all bad and grains have nutrients we need too.

Jokes on you Jr.

you _should_ _always_ be outraged. this shit is _outrageous_.

I moved to Alabama 20 years ago to care for my ahing parents. My dad is still alive at 86 so I’ve made a life here, such as it is. I live in the country so I’ll forever be an outsider to lifelong residents. I wouldn’t vote for Moore under any circumstances. I have daughters and granddaughters. And, thankfully, neither

I get the first part. I’d argue that the need for change outweighs the mental comfort of those people who’d support said change, but I get it.

The Constitution should be read as written, not interpreted to mean what we want in today’s day.

The biggest problem is, if you’re old enough to vote, Moore isn’t interested in you.

Maybe you should always be outraged.

And I can’t vote in Alabama. So spending any time worrying about elections I can’t vote in is pointless.

Dear friend of mine is a liberal stuck living in Alabama...and yeah, she’s horrified at the way all of this is shaking out. If Jones weren’t pro-choice she thinks he’d be way ahead....but the fact that her fellow Alabama-ites are willing to put the rights of a stack of cells over those of children who have been

I don’t mean to be a pedant, but this has been coming for much longer than a year. It probably started when our country elected an extremely intelligent, charming, young senator. The problem is that he was born in Kenya, I mean Ethiopia. And he’s definitely a covert for ISIS because his name is ostensibly

Vote. Fucking vote. You have to fucking vote.

Fuck Roy Moore.

Of course the more likely and credible explanation is that over 100 women got together to conjure up a conspiracy against Weinstein because every one of them had had regret sex with him, and it was just a coincidence that Weinstein had them all on a punitive enemies list and had hired people to make up false

The synchronicity surrounding this movie is remarkable. First, the Wikipedia documents this occuring when the film was released:

John Oliver is one of the few figures in entertainment who gets a pass on stuff like this. He’s not a journalist, he is a comedian, but he has always been an advocate for social justice. If he thinks Dustin Hoffman ought to be called out on the floor after ignoring his accuser, that is privilege he has earned through
