You could get him a Blackberry?

I would never give up owning a smartphone, but I long for the days of my LG Envy. I would pay extra for a phone that was thicker with a real keyboard and larger battery, and I totally do not understand the reasoning behind people wanting ever-thinner phones. Typing on a touchscreen is terrible.

If you wanna keys! buy an Blackberry

The BlackBerry Classic - which I got for my wife for Christmas - is an absolutely stunning machine. Best mobile keyboard ever made, and Android compatible via the Amazon store. I'm very impressed. Might ditch my Nexus 5 and go in this direction in 2015.

Those who use a BlackBerry using BB10 OS are not always an "Old" or "Anti-Consumer" as some of you have so ignorantly put it (I'm 27). I tried BB10 and I was sold on the intuitiveness of the OS and the communication first mentality of the device. The versatility of the OS using BB World and Android apps is a feather

Okay...that was in the beginning of a new market segment, years ago. You don't "jailbreak" a BlackBerry. That would defeat the purpose of it being a secured device. I'm glad you won't get anything else BlackBerry, because you are stuck in a recent past.

The all-inboxes-in-one nature of the Hub is probably the best feature of all smartphones. It's hard to calculate the value of this feature.

I switched from my iphone to a blackberry. Despite being mocked by the people at the Verizon store, I couldn't be happier.

Well said Eidsonb.

What a great move on BB's end. I really hope this does well. The Amazon app store will make up for the lack of apps in BB world. My wife had the Bold 9700 a few years ago and it was smooth and sleek looking. Can't wait to see this in person.

Y'know, maybe things come full circle. I bought a Passport simply because it looked interesting. I was using a Nexus 5 (History, y'know for context: Nexus One>Nexus S>Galaxy Nexus>iPhone4s>Nexus4>Nexus5), and I planned to hold on to that while I decided if the Passport would work or not. I was bored with Android

As someone who has used BB10 since the Z10, I love this. The longer they hang on and even start to turn the corner as they have, the more the predictions sound shrill. Coming soon to a Ford near you, BB/QNX. The Passport is a hit and this will be as well. BB10 is better than any other OS out there for security,

Just because I've learned to type on a screen, doesn't mean I don't wish I could go back to a keyboard.

You, sir, would be sorely mistaken.

The perks of handling some of the development costs. There's a difference between paying to keep an existing game off a platform and paying for a game to exist.

Sony is killing it with PlayStation Experience.

YES! Keep this up! More games need to be doing this kind o thing.

a) It's a problem that DOES exist. Problems starting and stopping, and malfunctioning signals are a big deal. For freight AND passenger trains.

Are you saying we're entering a zone of danger?

You shouldn't be able to do that.
