This has been one of my favorite rants for years. Start with a govt mandate paid by corn industry lobbyists saying we have to make X billion gallons of ethanol annually - but wait - it’s not competitive on its own due to cost so we’ll subsidize it. So we legislate its existence then subsidize it.
