I’LL BE DAMNED IF’N I LET SOME WOMAN CALL ME A BASKET OF DEPLORABLES!

I honestly think you hit the nail on the head there.

Boy, the Republicans can dish it out, but they sure as hell can’t take it. That much is for sure.

But...she never said “half.” And she's also not wrong.

She could’ve avoided the whole thing by simply adding ‘some of them, I assume, are good people’ at the end of her original speech.

Except the people that are in outrage about this have had NO problem telling the rest of America how terrible and ugly it is. Trump’s whole campaign is based around what a dump America has become and to try and restore it to it’s former glory.

Disagree completely. This is a great pop song with a hard rock edge. Gaga’s voice is more powerful than ever and there is nothing “shrill” about this. I think it’s great. This song was made for the dance floor, not for people’s tinny phone and computer speakers.

I am from Texas (escaped) and I can’t tell you how difficult this climate is for the (less vocal) Christian Left. Millenials are leaving the church left and right. Regardless of what you believe in, what this man preaches has nothing to do with anything that the Christians attribute as the teachings Jesus Christ. They

So did you miss the comments from people who have lived in Italy and dealt with it first hand, or are you purposely ignoring them in your quest to be obstinate and holier-than-thou?

My point remains, this attitude of “don’t criticize unless you’re perfect” is dumb. Maybe you were born recently and missed the “Making a

Also, within the past five years, 6 Italian scientists were convicted of manslaughter for failing to warn people about the dangers of earthquakes. So, I'd take Italian convictions with a grain of salt...

That’s because they’re based on recidivism rates, which looks at those who are convicted again. Given that the vast majority of rapes aren’t even reported, let alone prosecuted (successfully or not), the official recidivism rate doesn’t mean much.

Oppression Olympia are exhausting and useless, but without diminishing the horror of lynching I want to note that women have suffered rape and murder at the hands of men for centuries with only rare legal intervention. The highest cause of death for young, healthy women is still domestic violence.

I just said this above, but it’s really not that simple. Employers of both genders react very differently to men who negotiate than they do to women who negotiate (because, as you say, sexism).

Lynching had more to do with race than with “protecting women”—look at anti-trans bathroom laws, for example. The same people crowing about how they want to “save women and children” don’t seem to give any shits about sexual assault victims. It’s about bullying in (white) women’s names, not about “protecting” women.

Good for Judge Hurley, but shame on Mike Pence’s Indiana for the disgraceful ruling in the first place, but even more so for keeping her in prison AFTER the feticide conviction was overturned. GRRR!!!!

Why

Pretty much anyone who’s ever been sexually assaulted or done anti-sexual violence prevention work is deemed “biased” in sexual assault cases, and dismissed from the jury pool due to their supposed inability to be “impartial”. They have to call 2-3x as many people for the jury pool on a rape case compared to normal. I

Now playing

Thought I would remind everyone of this beautiful version of It Ain’t Me Babe, that Kesha sung with Ben Folds. It’s just amazing.

Remember Pink’s song “don’t let me get me”? In it she sings “LA told me, You’ll be a pop star, all you have to change is everything you are”. Pink sings an incredibly big truth here. If you want to be famous, well sure they can make it happen. But you have to do everything they tell you to do. And in Asia, this goes

I remember seeing him in a few films: that POS version of the Tuskegee Airmen, The Great Debaters, and Beyond the Lights and thinking, “oh, this guy might be the next Denzel!”
