I have a $4,900 Lordstown built Cruze and people still are impressed by it with 117k on the odo. It’s not all in the manufacturer.
That was not a facelift though/ The 1.5 generation mustang was a facelift (and weight gain).
I would tell you to never change, but I’m in the grays. Your “medium sized hourgass” actually seems rather large in perspective, though it would fit.

Cherokee is ugly, but purposeful and not overly busy. The RAV4 is busy, but actually cohesively not ugly. The rest have at least half a point in one of those categories, but all are pretty dreary.
At the very least, the current gen has the classic looks to still feel modern in 10 years.
That may be too rigorous for your sedan. Maybe you should upgrade to a small battleship.
They are beautiful because they are so utilitarian, not because they have been painstakingly styled by committee. Ex. Citroen HY van, LR Defender
