I know we non Americans like to make fun of the US military machine for being the world’s police, it’s situations like this that make me glad to be partnered with “the good guys” (for the most part). Rock on, USN!

I get that part but ultimately there still needs to be a control surface moving in the slip stream. Computers are good, but if the front wheels on your car don’t turn (so to speak), you can’t turn left or right.
How does it get around not having a vertical stabilizer with rudder? Are the ailerons top and bottom so that deploying both will slow one side?
I think if I had the money, I would buy an ACR. It’s completely unlike anything else available today. I’d also track it often, which I guess is one of the reasons it probably hasn’t sold all that well: the market of enthusiasts who would drive it the way it’s meant has minimal overlap with those that can afford it.
Oh yeah, I heard about those. That’s on my list for next year’s lapping season, along with an OBD2 reader and Harry’s Lap Timer. Thanks for the suggestion!
1. Is there no low range? That section where you’re floating between 3 and 2 wheels it looks like the wheels aren’t spinning together.
Safety question: there is a remote possibility that next spring I may take over a family e90 sedan that I want to track. I’m thinking the seats won’t have enough side bolstering to hold me in but does it make sense to replace the seat only or do I need to go all in and do cage/harness/HANS/seat?
Thank you, sir!
Can anyone recommend a good book about the rise of Bernie in F1 and how all of those original business deals went down?
Who is the driver on the left?
Mammoet? Those guys move some crazy stuff
What do you think is the main reason why the odometer needs to be in miles? My friend imported a TT from Connecticut back to Canada and changing the dash was optional.
I’m going to be a great second owner to one of these.
The Stig name is owned by Top Gear (or perhaps Wilman or Clarkson, who knows at this point) so what entity do you think they’ll use to match lap times? Is Randy Pobst available?
In a sense, maybe, because it’s not like the risks are diminished all that much (granted they’re at the edge of space rather than full earth orbit) but then again someone like Col Chris Hadfield took 20+ years to reach his goal so you’re probably right.
Frankly every person who has been up in space, regardless of country, is a space badass. There are clear dangers associated, and they volunteer to push the boundaries. I salute them all!
I have my eyes on a 2016 GTI but the price keeps climbing and my hobbies get in the way of savings, so for the time being it will remain a dream.
I love reading about those missions, so I feel bad that I’m mixed up the controllers. Unfortunately doesn’t look like I can edit my post. Thanks for the extra details.
Plus it was largely this save that made NASA leaders select him to command the first lunar landing.
I think you’re right about Aaron, oops. At any rate, all of the guys involved in those missions were so knowledgeable, they’re all heroes.
