This is good news, except the part about no timeline. I'm waiting to get a GTI Performance Pack this year and I can wait for this.

How about fitting Ford's 1L EcoBoost? That might be fun.

I do like that orange, though.

I don't know how low gas will go, but hopefully people realize that it is only temporary and that the overall trend is going to be up. I just hope that happens after July-August, when I can put a few litres through the boat.

How common are parachutes in modern fighters? Is it a case of "always equipped, never used"?

It's an interesting question about recalls. While design and manufacturing is improving, I would guess that some companies are very cautious about issues and may end up starting recalls or at least service bulletins for issues that they wouldn't have been concerned about previously.

Is the 6 year certification time reasonable? Is there any way to see how China's certification process compares to the FAA?

Thanks for the graphics. Isn't there also a P85+? I wonder if there will be a P85D+.

I would love to one day have so much money that I can afford to buy, repair and preserve cars that normal folks love but can't afford to maintain. So far that garage would have two members: this wagon and a W12 Phaeton. Hey look, two VWs! What a coincidence!

What is the difference between the 85D and P85D?

The guy holding the radar gun for the hockey test is probably the ballsiest guy in this. I've seen waaaay too many pucks go in the wrong direction...

That wasn't really the point of my comment, as history is sort of public record. I just wanted to mention the book because it tells the story in more detail.

Great summary of the book Go like Hell. That's a fascinating read on the technical side as well as the people involved.

Would you say 373 hp from a 5.7L V8 is appropriate output for this market/price point or do you think it's been held back significantly?

I have mixed feelings on the episode. I wish they'd done less about cheap cars crossing bad terrain and more about how they drove and maybe even had a race challenge or something. The different routes when I'm sure there were better roads to travel seemed overly staged.

Be sure to set aside time in your travels for cleaning the air filter because leaves, branches and small mammals are sure to be sucked into that thing when the turbo spools up.

I think we're always going to have this conversation, and that's good for evolution. Value seems to be a problem because there is such a huge difference between the top and bottom ends of the market but ultimately I think each car is judged based on its class, so you can have a 9/10 sub-$40k sedan and a $900k+

Related to Travis' Golf wagon nomination, I'd say my disappointment is that the motoring public in general does not appreciate the cars they could have and instead continues to see a vehicle as strictly A-B transportation. I'm sure VW did a market analysis in North America and realized that the enthusiast market would

The answer should have a list for all different periods. I'd be very interested to see the list of cars from, say, the last 20 years.

At what point will there be wipers installed on the side windows so the driver can see during a corner?
