The best combo of quality and price I found for commercially made workout sandbags was from Titan Fitness.  

ooo sandbags are fun. You can wrap them in garbage bags & duct tape to reinforce, then lift them, shoulder them, carry them around, even toss them if they’re light. If they’re small, put a few in a backpack or duffel. We have a tutorial on how to repurpose a duffel bag as a sandbag.

And finally, if you’re wearing gloves, dispose of them safely. In the garbage can, please.

Try loaded carries with the sand actually. Just hold them and walk depending on their weight.
