Does the fact that law enforcement already has members who are neo nazis count as self policing?

First thing I thought about after laughing at the general stupidity of the NYT’s suggestion. The Venn diagram of law enforcement and white nationalism overlaps...significantly. 

Look no further than how the Charlottesville PD handled the Charlottesville Unite the Right Rally, and the KKK rally that was held there a few weeks prior.
