The irony is that many of the wealthiest people are actually quite thrifty and understated, outside of goods that tend to acquire value. Most of them are not driving Lamborghinis and wearing gold shirts, and they very likely are wearing the same jeans, watching the same brand TV, and using the same phone as you are.

Employees at the country’s best places to work might disagree. Jimmy Hoffa’s corpse might disagree. The rust belt might disagree. Labor does not just compete for local jobs, but global jobs.
