Most of your gripes seem to come down to the fact that you don’t care to make any effort to learn anything about the game. The story as presented in the game is indeed terrible, but if you can’t be bothered to learn the names of the different enemies that you fight so much, the rest of your arguments lose some merit.

Why would you have four different races of enemy? Why wouldn’t you focus your story on a single bad guy that’s easy to develop antipathy for (or, you know, actually give the player a clear reason for shooting the bad guys)?

If you actually bother to learn it in depth, it’s really fun. It’s a little more complicated than Smash, and has different rules. Though there’s not enough character balance. The dlc characters were too strong.
