Yep, I agree with you for the most part. I was assuming the original commenter was referring to all of the conferences, not just the power ones. My problem would be with an automatic entry for conferences like the WAC or Sun Belt.

The only way this would possibly work is if the big conferences got rid of divisions AND completely formed their own league. The power disparity is just too great between the big guys and little guys and there's really no way to make it better. You know this, of course.
