People who are pressed for time can easily eat healthy. Every supermarket sells prepackaged salads, or if they want to save money, pre-cleaned greens. Same with protein. You can get pre-cooked chicken cubes that don’t cost much more than raw chicken.

I had a good friend who was bipolar. He had all the treatment options at his fingertips- he just didn’t want to use them. And we couldn’t do anything about it since he was an adult who was free to choose life on the street rather than be medicated.

I stopped drinking store-bought orange juice when I found out that fresh-squeezed juice means juice that is stored in tanks for up to year, with added color, because that’s the only way to maintain consistent taste.

Sure, I don’t disagree that Uber can keep investing in that R&D if it wants to, so long as it doesn’t do it on public roads. But I’d bet my last dollar that fully autonomous tech doesn’t hit the public roads (with no restrictions) for at least 10 years, maybe 20. That’s not going to be in time for Uber. 

When your back-up safety system also fails (and predictably so), maybe that’s a sign that you shouldn’t be testing your dangerous product on public streets?

say what? Percentage doesn’t matter to you? If I had a choice between living somewhere where 500 people are murdered every year but has 100,000 people or a place where 250 are murdered every year but has 10,000 people, I sure as hell would choose the 500 murder place.

Ever since the original voice guy died, ad agencies haven’t really been able to find a replacement who doesn’t sound like he’s just a parody of the original.

The counterpoint to this is that this is not the first time cops have pulled back on their jobs. Cops in NYC have done this before when other protests erupted in the past (see Eric Garner) and the crime rate did not skyrocket. The murder rate in NYC has declined every year until this year.

Easiest solution to that is to pass a law directing that all traffic fines go to the state, not the local muni court. That will fucking end all local traffic stops.
