She won’t be on the hook for any money. She will settle and issue a retraction when she realizes that her insurance won’t cover any of this.

And these non-chain corner markets are open 24 hrs a day? I don’t doubt that there are some of these 24 hr stores *somewhere* in other cities, but there is no other city (in the U.S.) that has this many of them.

The delivery window I get is more accurate than my grocery delivery.

The thing about bodegas is that it is not a corporate convenience store stocked with things that “corporate” thinks will generate the most revenue per sq ft. The bodegas around me have figured out what the neighborhood likes and stocks accordingly. South American sodas and snacks. Japanese or European candy bars.

They do. They suck.

Every NYCer who smokes has a number for a delivery service. And they deliver almost 24 hrs a day. And the prices are reasonable.

That tweet failed to capture the whole bodega vibe. Bodegas are not like regular grocery stores. The selection is far...quirkier. Sodas from South America. Candy from Japan or Europe. It all depends on the owners and the neighborhood.

My 12 mini does not have either the green or yellow tint, so I don’t think its a software issue. My screen is actually really nice. The battery, on the other hand...

In NJ, this car is $12,500 cheaper. The federal rebate of $7500 and NJ has a state rebate of $5000 if the car is less than $55k. I was looking at the Polestar, which i would much rather have, but if I could get this for $28.5k, I’m going to seriously consider it.

The amount of stonework suggests to me that the owners own a stone-adjacent business. I have relatives who build commercial buildings for a living. Their house looks like an office tower.

Hard disagree. Hate the Accord, hate this mini-Accord.

Rick parents don’t bribe schools because they want to secure a career for the kid. It’s all about the prestige of having a kid that attends an Ivy. Or, in less sophisticated families, USC.

In times like these, I am thankful for anti-vaxxers. Please, don’t take this vaccine. It leaves more for the rest of us.

My dog is a very picky eater so I roast meats for him every week and just mix in a small amount of kibble to balance his diet. I know for a fact that he would not eat half the things on that list. He won’t eat fruits or vegetables.

I’ve done the no added sugar diet for months at a time before. It’s hell the first week or two, but then it gets surprisingly easy. And I shed weight like crazy. Each time I’ve done it I lost about 15 lbs in 3 months with no added exercise.

You think most of those 70 million will be alive in 4 years? My in-laws are staunch Republicans, about 70 years old, fat, pre-diabetic, and continue to eat out at restaurants. The FIL keeps talking about how he is booking a cruise as soon as they open up.

A pimento grilled cheese sounds great. This thing? Not so much. If I ever get to the Masters (one of these days I have to win the lottery) I may try it, but I have heard there is a lot of competition on the menu.

My objection to Life Savers gummies was that it took me 30 seconds to eat a package, whereas a roll of hard candy would last days.

Good Earth makes a surprisingly acceptable vegan pepperoni when you cook it on a pizza. It’s kind of gross if you eat it as a cold cut though.

I’m all for dumb homes but I have to say that having the thermostat connected to the internet is a great thing, especially if you travel a lot. I can make sure I didn’t accidentally leave the AC on for 5 days. Or I can turn up the heat if I think the pipes might freeze. My energy company subsidized my thermostat so it
