You fundamentally misunderstand the motivations of corporate overlords. They don’t do things with the customer’s comfort in mind. They have two motivations: extract as much money from you as possible, at the lowest possible cost to them.

Let me fix that for you.

That....makes sense but there should be an exception for where the guy is looking to replace a Jeep.

I cannot believe that David Tracy did not recommend a Jeep.

You wouldn’t have hit that tree if you had correct tire pressure.

If it were true mint flavor, I could handle it. I love mint ice cream. But the artificial green mint syrup McD’s uses does not taste like pure mint. It tastes like chemical mint.

My wife and I did not have a wedding reception. City Hall marriage, then a nice meal at a $200ish per person restaurant for close family. I did buy my wife a fancy dress tho. Total cost was less than $5k. A year after we married, we had a baby, bought a new house with 40% down, and she quit working and stays home.

I ordered a Shamrock shake the other day. It was disgusting. The mint-to-cream ratio was way off. It was an overload of artificial mint syrup. Ooof. I’m hoping it was a case of inexperienced worker rather than a change to the old “hint of mint” flavor.

I understand that the gold-leaf-in-food gimmick is just for publicity and the places don’t really expect anyone to buy them, but it’s just so stupid. Who thinks eating metal is an exclusive thing?

My mother’s neighborhood is middle to upper middle class- entry houses run $400Kish. Lots of plumbers, HVAC, roofing company owners. Small business owners doing well for themselves. Lots of extended crew cab F-150s and large SUVs.

I think you’re underestimating the gaming social scene in places like Tulsa Oklahoma.

She doesn’t have $2.6B. That’s what the company sold for. She’s probably one of a dozen kids or grandkids of the original owners. She’s probably lucky to have $20M.

yes, I recognize that most slice places overcharge for their margherita slices. I never buy it. But the places I will spend $25 for a pizza don’t even sell by the slice.

Nothing a little duck tape can’t handle.

That must be a redesign or upgrade. Admittedly, I haven’t been there since the 80s but I remember going there as a wee lad and there were food stalls on both levels.

The Bourse has been around for 35+ years. It even predates mall food courts.

When I was poor I was the fucking king of spending less than $2 a day on food. Using your definition of what is reasonable (a poor person’s opinion) every single place not fast food would be overpriced. But I recognize now that some quality simply costs more. Pizza with bufala mozzarella is fantastic and it’ll never

You said to ask whether a poor person would pay $25 for pizza. I know poor pretty well and if I were poor today, the only pizza I would eat would be the $1 slice places. So by your own definition, any pizza more than $1 a slice is overpriced.

If all you want is the cheapest food at the cheapest price, what are you reading a food blog for?

How do you define overcharging for food? Is a pizza place that uses high quality cheese and dough and paying workers a fair wage overcharging for $25 pizza?
