No problem, I wasn’t very clear in my initial post. I have been conflating act and response.

In recognition of everything that’s going on right now, LEGO’s actions for #BlackOutTuesday involved not just a $4 million donation to organisations devoted to racial equality

Honestly it’s those damn ikea carts. A menace to American knees everywhere.

Could someone explain to me how them shutting down access to their MP games for two hours help this cause?

Anyone who wants to abolish cops is an idiot. What people want is cops who protect and serve rather than punish and enslave..... and for all humans to be served and protected equally.  This notion that protesters against cops must want no cops is absurd, and you know it.

This is a silly question,  but do you guys REALLY want to abolish cops in your city? How does that work? Not trolling. Genuinely don't know.

Nah.  People accept the money they’re offered.  I could argue Witherspoon’s husband should be cognizant of the appearance of nepotism, but if someone offers to overpay me for work I’m not complaining.  I also doubt she thought the company’s future was so precarious.

How hard is it to see a pothole when you’re on a scooter 2 inches above the road doing less than 15 miles an hour?

Also ; you never jumped off something higher than 3 inches without having to visit an Ortho surgeon?

When the sclooting starts the schooting starts.

I hate to be pedantic, but they stopped being scooters when they decided to participate in the breaking down of storefront windows. Now they’re sclooters and I just can’t get on board with that.

Agreed. I backpacked through Europe last year and they were a godsend in many places. Scooters allow you to hit many more sites in a day than public transit and they’re much cheaper than cabs. I wish there weren’t accidents or buffoons, but I don’t think we should throw out, or in this case, burn down, the baby with

I get all reasons why they suck, and I love a good barricade; but they were a nice option for last mile transit from public transportation.

Yeah, sure.

“If a mostly-black school is underfunded, while an equivalent mostly-white school in the same district is well funded, that’s objectively wrong. The part I always struggle with is why school boards or communities want that to happen at all. They might secretly think ‘We’re keeping them in their place!’”

IMO it has a lot to do with your neighbors. Mine is mostly people looking for recommendations for workers for home repairs (found a guy to fix my lawn mower!), asking about weird noises, advertising events. During the pandemic it’s been really helpful for finding stuff like toilet paper or asking for help (people

IIRC, the problem is the word “homicide”. The medical term “homicide” is defined “death caused by a human”. As the initial report does *not* say that, then how likely is it that a person can be convicted of murder if the person died of “natural causes”.

“... lots of shear shirts not sold with camisoles”

The few Penneys near me are such difficult places to shop: dim lighting, no clear differentiation between categories of clothing, overstuffed racks, and a big ol’ Sephora outpost plunked down in the middle. I’d see a few cute things in an ad and head over to the store and never find those items. Before the Bay Area

Words matter here.
