I’ve been very vocal about the safety concerns on set. I think the first AD got off lightly, and the UPM’s decision to merge the armorer and prop assistant jobs IMO was negligent. Baldwin may be civilly liable as a producer, but as I’ve already made clear, I do not believe that his actions were criminally negligent.

Nah, it’s still a bad faith argument because Wilma has no reason to point a gun at George. Alec Baldwin was making a movie. People point guns at each other all the time in movies, which is why it’s so important that live ammo not be anywhere near them. It’s not real.

Absolutely not. It’s SAG rules that the armorer and ONLY the armorer is responsible for the safety of all weapons used on set. This is to prevent the nightmare of dozens (or more) actors tampering with the weapons on the set of a movie.

It’s for the ACTORS’ safety that they’re not allowed to ‘check’ the guns in use. Do

I think it also means that movie productions now have 100% immunity for actors killing people on set when there is something they could have checked but just didn’t bother to.”

This was a very serious Brady violation. After the jury had already been sworn. The prosecution played cute with the evidence and hid it. They got their heads handed to them and a referral to the state Bar for sanctions should be forthcoming. HOW they thought that they could get away with this in a high profile case,

He had no reason to believe the gun wouldn’t fire. It wasn’t supposed to be loaded with live ammunition, period. The responsibility for ensuring there was no live ammo on set and in the device designed as a lethal weapon that was in perfect mechanical condition fell to the AD and the armorer, not Baldwin. Per NBC in November of 2023:

Not a fan of Baldwin (the man, that is; plenty of good performances) but...good. The suggestion that he was responsible for not doing someone else’s job was ludicrous from the beginning.

Yeah, it almost felt vindictive and personal. I didn’t think his actions rose to the level of criminality though I can see him being held accountable civilly.

For one thing who doesn’t lock the door in a portable bathroom?

Just imagine if the genders were reversed here and how it would look if people were this skeptical of a woman complaining about being assaulted physically and verbally.

To be fair I think “immediately” has some flexibility to it. He could have finished pissing and then found a pen.

Maybe this is a generational divide, but I assumed “written it down immediately” meant the Notes app on his phone. Because no, people don’t usually bring a pen and paper into a Portapotty these days.

Indeed.

That’s disappointing, but Innerspace and Enemy Mine are still pure gold.

I think the “nepo baby” discussion is overblown in almost every situation...except for the Please Don’t Destroy guys. Oh, one of you is the son of the guy who wrote Adam Sandler’s sketches 30 years ago...and one of you is the son of a current producer of SNL...And now you’re writing for the show and doing featured

Exactly, if they can do the job who cares who their parents were. Jack Quaid is a talented actor and has the charisma, Wyatt Russel is great, Bryce Dallas Howard can act and direct, Sophia Coppola because a great director(just don’t let her act).

100% have kind of done that. I met Johnny Manziel when he was at the height of his college football fame, though before the Heisman, I think, he came in the gas station I was working at and I didn’t even know who he was until someone mentioned it after he left. Granted I was not, and still am not, a football fan. I

Just like everything Scarlett Johansson does is sexy.

No matter what Kevin Bacon has done in his career, he’ll always be the guy who saved the small town from it’s “no dancing allowed” rule. Anyway, I’m pretty oblivious to people while I’m out and about. The idea that I couldn’t walk by a star like Bacon is hilarious. Somebody would literally have to point him out to me
