The record breaking run for the Porsche 919 took the same line. I'd guess the carousel lower section might be a little too rough for them. 

I noticed that, but assumed that was because the car made sufficient downforce not to need the banking, and why go over the rough concrete if you don’t have to?

Why would a sidewall be more effective at connecting a contact patch to a rim than a couple hundred individual spokes that connect the full width of the tread to the full width of the wheel?

The video is interesting in that it shows how much they left on the table with the lap. After watching the car get up to 270 km/h on some of the shorter straights earlier in the lap, I was looking for 300 km/h or more on the final straight. Instead the car peaked at about 248km/h, and slowly petered out before braking…

The current styling makes the previous generation look nice by comparison.

I’ve always despised the styling of the Prius.  I’d much rather have any of the Toyota lineup in hybrid form while taking a touch of a hit in MPG than drive that thing.  I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone would buy a Prius over a Camry Hybrid for just a little bit more.  About the same MPG, vastly larger…

What can I say? I miss the days when Cadillacs had powerful names that evoked their rich history. Names like Catera, Cimarron, and Allante.
