Ummmm...as a nerd I feel compelled to point out that Chult is not the only part of Faerun (the setting of the Forgotten Realms) that is primarily filled with black people, there’s also the Shaar.

While I agree the old books on Chult were poor in taste - wow, I can’t believe they were made in the 90's - I disagree with the writer’s assessment on Tomb of Annihilation.

They have had areas based on other parts of Africa in both DnD as a whole and in the Forgotten Realms like Mulhorand, an ancient Egypt analog. Chult is just the first to make it into the fifth edition of the game.

You’re looking for his Insight, not his Perception actually. They’re both wisdom based skills so I understand your confusion

Disclaimer: I’m Caribbean black, not African black.

Throughout history, there have been INNUMERABLE distinct African cultures. Even if you only count African cultures that are still in existence, you still have hundreds if not thousands of distinct cultures.

This seems like a Damned if you, damned if you don’t kind of situation. I’m happy they published the adventure, even if they stumbled. They tried, which is a weird thing I have come to appreciate from white people around me as a PoC. It’s awkward sometimes, but I appreciate they try to include me and be mindful of me

Pfft. I wrote what I consider a pretty fun campaign about an island infested with thousands of rabid vampire babies and the groups push to rescue the royal family who was isolated in their castle in the center of the island. There were plenty of side quests, mini-bosses, creative treasures, loot, fighting, a fucking

Nice. We had one LGBTQ member of our gaming group back in high school, and it was about the only place he felt welcomed - almost everyone in the group was an outcast of some sort, and we all bonded over that and the game. He was killed in a car accident my third year of college. I wish he was still around to see this

Before anyone starts bitching about SJWs and movements for inclusivity hurting their pretendy-funtimes without remembering that, ultimately, DnD is a game based around cooperation:

Eh, I agree with your general point, but I also disagree. I love the idea of being in various stages of undress with fancy lingerie and accessories. My boobs become prime centerpieces just because they’re awesomely placed magical mountains. It’s not because I want to feel attractive to men as much as it just makes me

The men from Moonlight recently did a shoot for Calvin Klein. They are all incredibly beautiful and the photos are fucking hot. They aren’t scrutinized for posing barely clothed. It’s bullshit that men can pose in clearly sexual campaigns and it’s just whatever, but women are forced to choose between making the

I’m guessing (I don’t know the La La Land dudes) that the bald fellow who broke the news over the mic was the above-mentioned Jordan Horowitz?

I’ve never seen him before but I admire how he was serious as a heart attack about this. He wasn’t having any jokes, he was not putting up with any confusion, and he fucking

No one said it was her job. Tilda asked if it was ok, very politely. Cho accepted. You can’t just absolve her of the words she said after that because she shouldn’t have accepted in the first place. How would you suggest Tilda gain knowledge on the subject?

I feel the big failures in indie development are these “let’s put out a shit ton of games, no matter what they are like and surely some will be popular” and the exact other end of the spectrum, ie Brigador, where they stubbornly write their own engine and polish the ever loving hell out of the game they made for a

Exactly, I was also taken back by the strange seriousness of the trailer’s voice over. It’s as if they don’t think their game is silly. With a game title as...internetty as the one they chose, why didn’t they slap some upbeat music on it, and show a highlight reel of exploding robots?

watching that trailer, i see so much wrong:

At least we can say, good for them for pulling it from Early Access and not trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of it under false pretenses. That alone makes it better than most of the Unity shovelware on Steam.
