Back in the day being unable to see at night was democratized. No one could see, therefore everyone could see.

Why was there not a amber rear turn signal law with this bill?

That really sucks :(

Oh, I’m definitely not advocating for the Solterra/B2ZXV4's weird cladding layout, that seems like a grime trap more than anything. That said, I loved when cars had unpainted bumpers and cladding; it looks industrial and is functional in day-to-day use:

Because, based on observation, it is the natural resting state of every Toyota-badged vehicle to have a rear bumper dent and a pole-induced tiger stripe. When I wanted to get my hair cut like that, I asked for a “Camry”, and the barber knew exactly what I wanted.

This comment is exactly what I was hoping to find. Glad I’m not the only one who hates it.

i’m weird. i like that black plastic cladding around wheel arches on most cars.

im weird. i like that black plastic cladding around wheel arches on most cars. the first car i saw that actually made me second guess my take on cladding was the kona. and now this. it just looks gross. its like you choose the wrong outline weight of a rounded rectangle shape in PowerPoint. and the front? disgusting,

I’m surprised they have the exact same overwrought shape on both versions, it seems to me like that would’ve been a good place to build in some much-needed brand differentiation.

I do not understand the need for some shitty looking black trim around the wheel wells on so many CUV/SUVs. It looks particularly terrible here, but same with the RAV4 and so many others.

I believe that non-metallic, understated colors can look good on a car with an exotic shape because it might help you focus on the shape more than the color. On something like the above generic-station-wagon shape of the Audi it looks like crap.

Dystopic drab.  That’s what I call it at least.  There were two of these parked side by side at the crap food resturaunt we went to for dinner tonight.  They were so grossly soul sapping, that I can’t even tell you what makes they were.

Primer

Are you talking about the nonmetallic paints that don’t have any fleck in them? Like this?

Despite being painted as a liberal fantasyland, there are tons of hand-wringing nimbys out there who would be happy with pushing all of the homeless out to sea on the garbage raft to keep their property values up.

Eh. Doesn’t make you a terrible person. Not even necessarily a bad person. Misguided, badly informed, emotionally unstable, traumatized... those are just a couple of reasons why people can fall in with that shit. It’s like being in a cult, there’s lots of manipulation and conditioning involved. At a certain point

That’s pretty much what Chevy did with last year’s (or was it 2019's) EV Blazer restomod. Especially the repurposing of the gauges - the fuel gauge was turned into the charge level gauge. I liked that approach way better than the “modern”, half-assed, iPad-glued-to-an-empty-dashboard approach, especially on a restomod.

Yeah, it’s looking more and more possible for EV boats. A 50hp electric is around $8k, while a 50hp 4 stroke gas is around $7k. Of course, the electric requires that you purchase around $5k worth of batteries and related equipment.... but, that cost keeps coming down.

My first one ever!  Huzzah!

Never have a kid to make your spouse happy, in the end neither of you will be. A kid will grow up with a distorted view of a functioning family. I usually dont give advice unless asked, but this one’s obvious.
