I think the issue is not whether or not the concept is cool, but whether the actual execution is cool. Personally, I’d love to see them do this setup but keep the interior closer to stock. The modern wheel and seats stand out in a bad way.

The giant tablet haphazardly slapped onto the dash is the biggest intersection between "things manufacturers think look expensive" and "things a poor person would do to act rich" in recent memory. 

I appreciate the IDEA, but man, that execution just doesn’t do it for me. Should have left the outside looking closer to factory, the interior looks like they got to the week before they needed to show it and all said ‘Fuck it, just cram the new stuff in there!’ and that tablet stuck to the dash looks.. well, shit.

A course designed for something with that kind of wheelbase would probably be rad. Hell, it might be part of the X games, if those are still a thing.

Meh. I grew up without them, hated the idea of it, and now don’t really notice it. In crowded parking lots, it’s useful.  

I am glad I have my 19 year old M5 to help keep my driving skills fresh!  All it takes is a brand new painted rear bumper to keep your backup and parking skills honest...

The problem is that other safety mandates have reduced visibility and in a lot of vehicles it’s literally impossible to back up safely without the camera. There are simply too many and too large of blindspots.

Hmm, I hadn’t thought of this before. Are they banned from use during driving exams? Seems silly to me we would have federally mandated equipment and not be allowed to use it during an exam.
