I’d argue that those menus could be more easily navigated on a phone as well. You’re going to connect your phone to your car over bluetooth anyway and the infotainment system has a direct connection to the a lot of the vehicle’s controls, so why not just have an Android or iOS app that accomplishes the same…

I’d rather just not have touch screens. If anything, just give me a place to dock my phone and move the unnecessary-but-mandatory backup camera up to a digital rearview mirror like it should’ve been from the start. I can just wipe off my phone when it gets smudged... and I can replace it whenever I feel like.
