I'm on my second playthrough. Dark Souls is the hardest game you'll ever play but it's also the most rewarding. Even now with over 100 hours playtime I still get slayed by Dark Wraiths or pull a bonehead move and fall off an edge. It only takes a second of lack of concentration and " YOU DIED." Yesterday I was

What the hell is "Hinder?"

Wow. Seriously good analysis. I just know I really like the writing. Now I understand a little better "why."

Just canceled my pre-order. Has anyone noticed all of a sudden even with a free membership you can be invaded on the original Dark Souls now? The only thing I can figure is they are trying out their servers or something. I was in the game grinding souls before facing O&S and I turned human just to see who you can

True story. I was looking for fossil pine cones in the Hell Creek formation when I broke open a piece of what looked like volcanic pumice or something and found a piece of wood that had the appearance of being "half-fossilized." As I held the rock you could almost see the wood turn darker. It just crumbled.

You're right, my bad.

Dark Souls was backstabbed. Seriously. If you stuck it out and resisted the urge to rage quit and move on to something much easier, you found an adventure and a story that did exactly what a game should do-allow you to forget the mortgage for awhile.

You are the first person I've ever met with the same kind of enthusiasm for galls that I developed in college. I wish I could have kept going in the research but life intervened and I lost the spark. I still have my SEM photos and tons of notes but the discoveries will have to come from someone else I guess.

That's actually how I measured metal concentrations in water for years with a gas chromatograph. It was a reliable and hardy instrument that gave accurate results in the PPM range.

I love Dark Souls but I'll be staying offline for this one. If you can invade without an internet connection-come get me. The game is just too demanding and people are pricks for the most part. I'm kind of disappointed in the game developer for not allowing us to enjoy the adventure without some 12 year old

Great stuff! I'm excited to see this kind of enthusiasm in science. Hopefully your work will get younger budding "scientists" involved in the process. I will be checking out your tumblr site and I hope you find success in your work. I studied gall wasps in college and "sorting tiny wasps" is very familiar to me.

Toughen up and return to Dark Souls. 23 hours ought to earn you a level or two. I find something new almost every time I play.

Fascinating book! I went out and bought a copy after reading it.

Gall wasps didn't fare so well. Of course they went right from the nitrogen to an extreme vacuum and being coated with gold/palladium so there was that...

No Dark Souls? I refuse to acknowledge this list! (Although I agree with everything else.) How can you ignore the most frustrating (yet rewarding) and best laid out formula for a game every made. Dark Souls drove me nuts and actually brought me to total frustration many times- but it always brought me back to try

A whole lot of stupid going on here in the comment section, I would have expected better from this website. Either there is a big push from the crazies at Faux News or their propaganda is working. If you don't understand the difference between "climate" and "weather" maybe you should be hitting those books instead

You should probably note this is for Gold members only.

This is why I play offline.

Very well said. I hesitate anymore to post online after numerous incidents (all on youtube) but I really do appreciate the suggestions. I used to be in damn good shape but a couple of chronic health issues have held me back to this point. I really would like to feel better and I believe one of my issues

I am very grateful for the ideas and the suggestions. I believe this is one of the first times I have posted something on the internet and everything I received was helpful and positive. Thank you very much.
