As much as it pains me to say, people need to get the fuck over this electors bullshit, and the recount bullshit and start focusing on surviving the next four years.

Oddly, though, a direct democracy would have elected a fit President; it’s the EC that’s going to elect the unfit one. (Regardless of views about HRC, she can at least meet the definition of “clinically sane.”)

I must not be understanding this correctly. I thought that if Republican electors voted for people who are not Trump then it would eat into Trump’s number. So yeah Hillary’s number wouldn’t get bigger but wouldn’t Trump’s number get smaller if votes were pared off to another person?

This is what I am thinking too. I keep telling my husband “Well, there is no path to good. There is no scenario that leads to a good situation.”

Really? Kasich?

The two I’ve met were both pretty tough cookies. It’s one of those jobs that’s brutal enough on an emotional level that I suspect people who don’t have that personality get winnowed out pretty quickly.

Seriously? Commenters ARE horrible quite a lot of the time—even here. Can you really blame her?

How long have you been carrying that chip on your shoulder? It seems heavy.

Please do not credit Obama with indigenous struggle and victory against this pipeline. He did absolutely nothing and has said nothing to help.

To be honest those groups could be pushed aside like they were for months. A third rail type of activist got involved, called veterans, and the cost of bad press from shooting or water dousing or touching a hair on one of their heads is so much higher politically that it made them break. It shows how unequal voices

I think the unusual parts were A: His amazingly outlandish promises and B: The fact that he basically started walking them back the day after the election. Most Presidents aren’t that proactive.

This literally is the truest thing that’s ever been said.

Thanks for this post. I was raped at gunpoint in college, and this guy’s criticism of how a young girl handled herself is really too much for me to even respond to. How dare he.

I’d been doing this too until my neighbor complained about the weed smell. Now I’m back to being completely miserable and misanthropic.
