Shit like this is so intellectually impotent I’m actually convinced it’s led me to like Hillary more than I would have otherwise. This is the kind of nonsense that makes disliking her seem irrational. Good work.

Donald Trump, a celebrity, has endorsed himself, and millions of people are going along with it, so...yeah. People care.

Yeah I feel frankly quite awful for her. Especially because many people will probably come up with reasons to explain why she deserved this.

Or they start telling you how the private sector should build roads and if you can’t afford to drive on Monsanto’s roads you’re too poor to need a job or go to the hospital anyway.

Your sister sounds lovely. I think, unfortunately, that she’s an anomaly.

I mean I’m positive he didn’t write that statement. But it is a nice thing - in a generic way, you’re right - for a father to say about his daughter. In theory.

A lot of them don’t think taxes should exist in the first place, so I don’t see why it should make any difference for them. Other stuff, like the gossipy shit about him cheating on his wives, should matter more to them. But that, too, doesn’t make a difference.

Meanwhile, last week an IRS employee told me that as long as I was paying rent and buying my medications, the IRS considers me financially competent to pay my taxes. Even if I have literally nothing leftover after paying for those necessities. So basically if you aren’t a fucking billionaire the choice is homelessness

My ex sister in law was a cop for a while. She was (and remains, unfortunately) the least stable, least intelligent person to enter my inner circle. She would brag about the most horrendous, heinous stuff, and when I showed my disgust, she’d pull that whole “well you have to joke about it to be able to deal with it -

IDK it’s nicer than anything my father’s ever said about me. I thought it was surprisingly nice, but obviously I don’t have a good frame of reference.

I think it’s an any port in the storm kind of thing. And the fact that he angers and scares so many of the people conservatives hate. Definitely cognitive dissonance, but I think it’s also a kind of vile, aggressively retaliatory thing, too.

Nothing will hurt him with the people who’ve decided to vote for him at this point. He could declare himself a socialist and they’d say it’s all just strategy.

I can think of a few instances in which actually good people had the misfortune to become police. The reason I know about these too-rare people is that they were featured in news stories about whistleblower cops facing reprisal from their scumbag colleagues.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that most people who become cops just want to feel power over vulnerable/helpless/less powerful people. Seems like a logical connection that someone with those career priorities would be engaging in the same behavior off the clock, too.

I guess Patsy and Edina aren’t going to be terribly concerned about benzo addiction. I’ll never be as cool as them.

I can only get through one minute of that video because that dude makes me so sad but GOOD GOD Megyn Kelly. Her withering contempt is a joy to behold.

I think only idiots do that. There’s a venn diagram of some sort in there.

Exactly. Just in general, food has no place in the bathroom. That’s where pooping happens. It’s where teeth get flossed and brushed. If anything it’s the polar opposite to a kitchen.

I don’t eat in the shower because a) my shower is not room-sized and b) i don’t like it when my food tastes like water and shampoo.

I choose to be single because I don’t trust myself to be able to get out of a bad relationship - maybe someday that’ll change, but it’s not on my priority list to work on that aspect of my life. However, I do have several friends who say they’d rather be in a bad relationship than be single because they want “a
