I think this will be good news for Destiny and those of us who love it, largely because Bungie will no longer be restricted to an annualized schedule. Maybe instead of Destiny 3, Bungie will now be able to transform the game into a single SKU that’s updated regularly. That’s my ideal scenario.

On the flipside though they have a product with a tarnished name, no more big-money backing, and have to try and rebuild a playerbase that for most have little reason to jump back in.

Yeah, things definitely won’t change suddenly. I’d assume dev/publisher tensions that affect the game play out over the course of months, if not years.

Does the Epic store have features which Steam will be forced to adapt which consumers like? Does it have more frequent sales, deeper discounts, and a larger library? Ccorrection, Steam takes 30% regardless of what engine you use. The extra 5% for UE goes directly to Epic as their own, separate fee.

For devs, sure. For consumers, I’m not really seeing a benefit to “fractured storefronts”.
