Agree on Covenant, but...

...oof, Prometheus perfectly solid, above 3 and 4? It is at-best mediocre. It is constantly undermined by inconsistent and inchoate characterization, things that happen only so certain scenes (mostly action or suspense) can follow and not because of any sense of logic, and trying-yet-failing

Pretty sure the result of this alternative timeline would have meant that both movies would have sucked instead of just Covenant, so I can’t share the sentiment.

Miyazaki’s just going to keep making movies until he can’t, and I support that.  I will be absolutely shattered by whatever he leaves incomplete, but I will watch his movies as long as he keeps making them.

I find it philosophically detestable in its rigid view of its world and unwillingness to interrogate the oppressive systems it has in place for longer than one movie”

On the other hand, with PS5 you get all the third-party multiplatform releases and you get some fantastic exclusives.

Wow, BOTW as #1? I feel like the lackluster dungeons and bosses immediately drop BOTW several places down, unless you really enjoy crafting in your games and want to spend an outsized amount of time playing around with sandbox mechanics, which to me... isn’t very Zelda-y. I definitely think there’s a place for it in

I love Wind Waker in concept and vibes, but having replayed both it and Twilight Princess a couple years ago, I’d pick Twilight in a heartbeat for some incredible dungeons, weapons, and boss fights. It doesn’t help that you can really feel where WW ran out of time in development, as the quality and pacing suddenly

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Yeah no, it was a cute scene that didn’t feel like an ad, more like nostalgic food for 90's kids.

This feels like a blatant over reaction.

I had a hell of a time trying to parse the headline before realizing “kicked off Sundance” meant she started the event and not that she had been removed from some kind of panel or something at Sundance because of her comments.

Planets dying’, Cloud!

Our tastes in games has diverged over the years, Luke. I agree with Ghost, though. And I haven't played Stray.

Andor is the best Star Wars anything since the first season of The Mandalorian. The Empire Strikes Back.

Now playing

This interview is long, but during the interview Hans claims to have cheated online once at age 12, and again at age 16 (the latter supposedly in what he called “meaningless” games), but never live over the board like in the game he won against Magnus in St. Louis.

There’s a bit more to it. Niemann admitted to cheating once in a money tournament on Chess.com about 3 years ago. Chess.com perma-bans his account. Niemann tweets calling out Chess.com for the ban and Chess.com issued a statement that Niemann wasn’t fully honest about the amount of times he cheated and the seriousness

The Little Hours was great- it was funny and sexy. Also beautifully shot

Haven’t played Nioh 2 but I found Nioh 1's ‘mission’ format annoying.

You have a very restrictive view on what constitutes narrative and world building. RPGs have traditionally relied on very simplistic and straightforward methods of communicating with the player. The player is given a gods-eye view of the plot via scrolling text (or something equally forced) that informs them what

Being sympathetic to the characters or understanding the plot doesn’t have anything to do with the world. The “bespoke universe” with “every corner has something to see” is world-building. Read some item or spell descriptions.

Obviously the game would begin where the show left off and have Seinfeld and his “Friends” escaping from prison.
