John Oliver’s show is generally different because he does deep dives into his topics without any “interview” segment to take up half his time. I can’t think of a single other comedy-news show that gets as in-depth as Last Week Tonight.

As someone who considers himself a comedy fan I don’t find their jokes particularly amusing, and as someone who considers myself very politically active I don’t find their insights to be all that profound.

Okay. . . . but doesn’t this just fall into the “you don’t have to watch genres you don’t like” category?

I mean, I’m not a particular fan of the “bunch of women talk about nothing and occasionally get snippy” genre, but that’s why I don’t watch “The View” “The Talk” or “The Chat” or whatever else those shows are

Or to figure out what makes the storytelling in those games work, tbh

Honestly, I don’t think I trust the Dark Souls community to make a fun, balanced challenge.

Trump in particular is a dead man walking, will be out of office in January”

I’ll believe it in January.

If anybody truly wants him out of office, do not listen to the polls or pundits.  Go out and vote no matter what!

Now playing

There’s so many younger players who just take it all for granted and speed through the game, But I love Shirley’s pure enjoyment of the game. Her innocence and wonder she brings to it. She takes her time and carefully explores the world. She’s very mindful what she grabs and what it’s worth.

You know what, I really wish good things for this game. For the many, MANY flaws Anthem had, it was certainly a gorgeous, evocative experience in many ways, and the core gameplay of flying and spamming abilities was really, really strong. It’s all the scaffolding that basically needs a complete overhaul.

Hell, The Last Jedi was one of the best things to happen to this series in decades and people are still arguing about how it was actually bad.

I don’t disagree with the bosses thing, but the rest is just madness.

except jedi dont double jump and the ability to do so is purely a video game mechanic

Yeah, I kept reading waiting for the point to show up. The frustration is more with the way playoff rankings work and how such a tiny play can impact a whole season, I don’t see why the cameras or frames or technology are being brought into it at all.

I’d love to see a report of every free throw that James Harden has taken that he doesn’t deserve.

I’ve played almost all of XIII on PC (I’m literally at the part right before the final boss where the game basically says, ‘hey, it’s final boss time so go finish up whatever business you have’) and, while it’s an unpopular opinion, I’ve really enjoyed the game. Mostly likeable characters, weird but fun setting,

The story is not just that the league’s structure encourages the Pelicans to sit AD. The story is also that the Pelicans FO and ownership have been so incompetent for so long that they’ve managed to take a perennial top-5 player, and fail to build a playoff team around him, and fuck up to the point that it makes sense

I felt the same. I’m still flabbergasted by the game and it’s story when I think back on it but I was so SO done playing it by the time I got to the end. I just wanted to rush and finish it. It’s a weird feeling. I guess overall I just found the main gameplay loop of shooting a bunch of dudes to be kind of boring and

You’re probably burnt out. Game has a solid story with great characters but the gameplay in the main story missions gets old rather fast and you’ll notice the pattern.

I really started appreciating 2 and seeing how much it actually was a successor to 1 after playing through 3

This is basically reason number one I don’t play online games, and why Fallout 76 is the first Fallout game I won’t be buying.
