Back in my political days during the early 90s, I ran into her at an event someplace in DC. A few weeks earlier, she’d been on one of the ubiquitous talking head Sunday roundtables (This Week with David Brinkley, probably - to her everlasting credit she steadfastly refused to appear on McLaughlin) when some point

I always admired her. She fought cancer for quite a while, this is truly a loss. And (trivia!) her mother was Lindy Boggs, a member of the US House of Representatives from Louisiana. She took over from her late husband and then got re-elected seven times.

She was one of the only voices I trusted regarding politics and Washington.  I’m going to miss her insights tremendously.

I’ve looked forward to her regular explainers on Morning Edition for ages. She will be missed.

She was amazing.  For years she was the only woman I saw on TV who was truly intelligent, analytical, and kind.  I will miss her.  RIP, Ms. Roberts.

Cancer is such a fucking bitch. Cokie was a real treasure, and a genuine asset to this country. Her voice will be missed.

I am built rather like a Pringles can. A perfect cylinder filled with salty goodness. I guess I must be the perfect shape for those pants.

I love the Pixie pants from last year, and thanks to their ridiculous vanity sizing, my plus-sized butt can wear pretty much everything in the store. That said, I wish their sizing would be consistent. I bought a pair of their skinny-cut Rockstar pants in an 18 back in December, and I loved the fit. When I went back

Exactly. #Boymom is the precursor to “Boys will be boys.”

Right there with you, T1D here and the difference in blood sugar control between eating rice/potatoes/bread and sticking with veggies is amazing. It can certainly be taken too far but is not bad in and of itself!

It’s really good to see people opening up more and discussing the realities of adopted and birth mothers talking about it as well. It does eat up your life at times and you can think you’re all alone in what you go through. Its helped me clear away some of the fog. Thank you for your kindness. I know my daughter now

Doesn’t really matter. GOT told Trump to not use their imagery or their font in his memes. He didn’t give a flying F. He used it again in a few weeks anyway.

Amy Poehler told them to fuck off through the almighty channel that is Nick Offerman.

Yes, I was confused as to what that was supposed to mean. Like, they had so many other things they could have used and they picked that, so obviously it was supposed to shame?

TLDR:

This, I completed my masters degree 6 months before the economy tanked. The community mental health agency I did my internship in did a salary freeze that lasted 3 years, and I wasn’t making enough to make the student loan forgiveness payments. 12 years into my career and I’m finally way more stable than before but I

Re: high-earners with large student debt - I understand the discomfort around the idea of wiping out/reducing our debt, too. And, for sure, the income allows us to be in a less dire place even if we are cash-strapped because of the enormously burdensome payments. But I can affirm that those of us with big debt came

American Apparel’s #Pride collection includes this shirt that says “Everyone’s gay.”

Real talk: I make six figures but am 40 years old and STILL paying off my student loans, and currently won’t be able to completely be rid of them until I am almost 50. I live in DC and the cost of living here is INSANE. My husband and I do very well salary wise but we have very little in savings and all our “wealth”
