So who in your mind has the privilage of critiquing this then?

It sounds to me like you’re calling anyone who expresses a negative opinion a hater.

My experience DOES give me the authority to make an INFORMED OPINION based on my understanding of the skill and techniques necessary to make “good art” and an

The safest way to solve this problem IMO is to buy from trusted vendors. If your car happens to have a niche enthusiast following and there are parts vendors online that cater specifically to them, then chances are that said vendor has been selling parts for these cars in large quantity and for a long enough period

True, but it would at least have been grounds for someone to call it “offensive”. There’s nothing wrong with her car other then it’s a herse.

Stupid. At the end of the day it’s just a damn car. Maybe if this was covered in pentagrams and had zombies all over it or something they would have a leg to stand on.

I’ve always wanted to build one although I don’t know if I’ll ever actually act on it. I’d like to do a 60's Cadillac 1 of 2 ways:

As a Pro Street

Oh please, so just because I don’t like something means I’m not entitled to an opinion? As an artist I’m more then flexible in my appreciation of different styles of art. This is just done poorly. Like she said it was done by 50 stragners with a spray can.

There are much much more artistic ways to work with the

“Like most art critics” huh? I actually AM an artist myself, so I have a pretty damn good idea of what “good” work looks like. She said it herself, this was done by a crowd of strangers that got handed a spray paint can. The execution is poor, plain and simple. If it had been properly taped off and done by 1-3

Agreed. If this was done by ONE ARTIST that actually had some experience and did it with a particular theme it would be really cool. It also goes without saying that the damn tape job should have been done right and it should have been done on a reversable vinyl wrap or dip base layer.

As corny as those ads are though at least they aren’t casting paid idiots who have no knowledge of cars to make moronic scripted comments. They Chevy ads and the Toyota “Millenial Adventure Ads” are the worst out there IMO.

Shit, there goes the chance that these will come down to earth in a few years when I would be ready to buy one and not be marked up by tens of thousands of dollars. :(

What’s his Youtube channel? I didn’t realize he had done so much of this.

Agreed. Stance Miatas always piss me off. That could be autocrossed or built into a Spec Miata instead.

It can’t happen soon enough whatever it is. The Euro car scene has been polluted by this crap for years and I’m tired of it. A friend of mine that runs a shop made a great point a couple years ago when he said “I remember when VW Enthusiasts actually cared about performance.”

Yup, you’d never know that this thing only has 90 hp when you drive it. It’s by no means “fast” but it definitely feels “quick” and it’s an absolute blast to drive. Feels great to drive something completely “analog” as well these days.

Thanks! I was very fortunate to find this one. It had 75K miles on it and was bone stock when I got it. I’ve since went through and refreshed the suspension, brakes, and fuel system mostly. I want to keep it as period correct as possible.

Here’s my Rabbit GTI BTW.

Any recommendations for recent Volvo wagons? Truthfully I haven’t researched them at all so I don’t know where to start looking but I’m definitely considering one for my next daily. I miss driving a wagon and I detest the idea of a CUV or SUV so I might be in the market again next year.

I definitely don’t have VC90

Most of them I have owned! LOL

I pride myself on the idea that as a car enthusiast I’m not biased by blind manufacturer loyalty or hatred based on silly prejudices for brands.

I’ve grown up very much interested in classics and muscle cars and I’ve been a pretty big Ford fan as well, but ironically I’ve yet to own

No surprise to me there! I drove a ‘15 or ‘16 Focus rental car a few months ago and the Enterprise agent said before he handed over the keys “I know it’s going to feel like something is wrong with this transmission but I swear it’s normal and we’ve sent it to the dealership to be looked over a few times after

I can’t imagine that the Trump administration won’t flame out in a glorious fireball by 2020 or even 2018 if the Democrats manage to get a majority in congress and impeach him. You’d be a fool to assume that all of this deregulation will stick in the long term and the course won’t be corrected by the next

I’ve been wondering the same honestly. Especially since Toyota has had a history of offering superchargers with the TRD program. Seems like a no brainer and a good way to capture more of the market for the platform from Subaru.
