“Just go supercharge it” isn’t a practical answer for everyone though. If I’m financing all or part of a high $20K to mid $30K new car I’m not going to immediately go out and modify it with something that will void the warranty. Granted any car that is well built shouldn’t have a problem in it’s first 36K or 60K

Yup, I’m sure we are not alone. That’s what made it such a defining experience for me. If she was willing to go through that much discomfort, and basically harm her children too, then it tells you how much of an addiction it really is.

I feel for you on that one. My Mom is stereotypically always cold and will turn the heat on in her car on a 60 degree day in the summer. Yet she had no qualms about rolling her window half way down in the middle of winter to smoke. So my brother and I got to sit in the back seat of the car freezing our asses off

The “Liberal Media” is this hard on Trump because he brings it upon itself and deserves every single bit of criticism he gets. I won’t even start listing the scandals and reasons why here because I would probably find out that Kinja does in fact have a word count limit and discover what it is.

I will say this

FB RX-7, MR2, or a MKII or MKIII Toyota Supra would be the answer to me.

Good way to put it! Exactly the same thing I do to as far as the push test goes. Yes I don’t expect everything to get a leather wrapped dash, but a hard plastic dash and door panels, arm rests, etc. just feels cheap. The other thing that always irks me is a lack of “ornamentation” in the design. Don’t just stick

Good point. It just felt like I was sitting in a base model interior with leather and a better radio. It didn’t feel at all like they put any more money or quality parts in the fit and finish of the interior. For $70K it had better feel like an Escalade inside.

Yeah that generic silver shit they use in every Ford for an accent is terrible! It feels flimsy and it scratches easily and it’s not attractive looking.

THIS! It’s such a big driver of your impression of the quality of an interior. My’15 Mazda6 for example does a nice job with accents using chrome plated plastic in spots that thus far hasn’t really scratched up in 3 years and 50K miles and “Piano Black” plastic in others which has also held up well. Likewise the

I’d argue that is is probably the first time in decades that you CAN say as an enthusiast that Ford brings something to the table across the board that is appealing. The Fiesta and Focus STs are definitely enthusiast orientated cars, the Mustang is good as always, even the Fusion is a solid choice. I drove a 14

No kidding! That’s the first thing I thought when I read this too. How does a successful race team NOT have food service of some sort at the very least available?

And I wouldn’t want to eat Taco Bell when I’m racing either. Having to pit because you have the shits wouldn’t be very wise.

These are stupid, and most of the time they are self-inflicted problems like blowing up a motor after the owner added a turbo. Don’t mod your car if you have to rely upon it as your sole transportation or you can’t afford to fix it! I’ve never added a Turbo or Supercharger to one of my cars because I’ve made a

Agreed. I had a newer Focus as a rental recently and it was so wonky that the Enterprise guy said “Just so you know the transmission isn’t going out on this car we’ve brought it to the dealership a few times and they’ve said nothing is wrong with it, it’s just how it works.” This is why I will continue to buy

I drive myself crazy because I reach the point of “research paralysis” if I can’t find a clear cut definitive choice that seems to be universally well regarded. Especially if I’m spending over a couple hundred on something like a phone, computer, camera, car, etc. I realize that it’s really easy to find only

I agree but it’s amazing how many people make purchases like that blindly without researching it first. I don’t buy ANYTHING without spending a significant amount of time reading reviews on it. Hell, I’ve been putting off buying a new bed for months because I can’t find anything that doesn’t have a treasure trove of

It amazes me the attitude that some of them give people. A friend of mine is a mill worker at a big steel mill. He probably makes 6 figures a year. He probably even paid in cash. The man is very blunt and to the point and he doesn’t sugar coat shit. He went to 3 or 4 different Audi dealers in the Chicago area

We’re enthusiasts. Lots of the general public doesn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to cars and they don’t care to be more informed. Hell, my brother likes cars but he’s never owned anything remotely enthusiast orientated and I don’t think he’s ever researched his purchases. The last 2

No shit, some “Safety Crew” they have. Seems like the idiot that owned it didn’t care that much but still.

I feel like this should be a Demuro video challenge for the Range Rover.

This sounds like the closest thing to a modern version of my 2,100 lb / 90 hp 1984 VW Rabbit GTI. The weight and hp are very close. I think it would be a blast to drive and I’d probably consider buying one if it handled anything like my MK1 and the overall driving experience was as fun.

The problem is small cars
