Can we just not????

Not hugged enough?

I’m really glad that commenter was raised to research and form his own opinions—there’s a lot of voters out there who were simply raised to trust God and pray for abortion to be outlawed.

That seems about right.

Oh, absolutely. But it isn’t their fault that they’re a product of their environment. I was taught growing up to trust God and pray about everything. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized you have to actually do things if you want the world to be a better place than it is.

There’s much debate on whether or not my grandfather is still registered democrat—the whole family was at one time, during the old school democratic party.

Nope.

Some of the first questions I got about my boyfriend were “is he a democrat?” and “how Jewish is he?”

I don’t think she’s blaming others, she’s just highlighting the influence they had on her—she knows that she wasn’t very politically aware, and because she didn’t know enough about it to earnestly care about the issues, she used what resources were near at hand—her family and her boyfriend. I’m glad you made the

My little sis goes to a baptist college and will probably marry a preacher or something and I look forward to poisoning the minds of my future nieces and nephews with my left-wing feminist agenda.

That’s not entirely fair—a lot of teens aren’t really educated on the issues, and if their families and friends are conservative and that’s all they know, they’re more likely to lean conservative. I was the same way (sans boyfriend) because I was raised in a very conservative Christian environment. I grew up and then

Loved this. It so so so sums up my life politically—I grew up in rural Kentucky in a very conservative Southern Baptist family. When I registered to vote when I was 18, I registered Independent, but still voted Republican with my parents. When I was a freshman in college I was on the email list for the campus pro-life

People who are active in Scientology strike me as the type of people who take everything SUPER SERIOUS ALL THE TIME

THRILLA

Your pusses look offended by the very IDEA.

Not necessarily! So much of it is understanding how language works—if you can identify roots and how different sounds are written in different languages, it’s much more analytical than just memorizing words. These kids at the national level do so much more than memorize how to spell words—they study Latin and Greek

I am HERE FOR THIS. Spelling bee was my JAM in middle school, even though I know I couldn’t have hacked it outside my tiny town in KY (not being trying to disparage my classmates, but there was not much competish there).

I would watch this docuseries—someone call Netflix

That was my first thought, addressing her by her first name seems to be a great way for him to undercut her authority as an attorney.

At least they’re somewhat self-aware. Still gross that they thought it was a good idea in the first place.
