For the pocketability issue, my solution was to keep the packaging that the rg350 came with -the foam protector- and wrap a rubber band around it. This keeps the joysticks happy in your pocket and prevents the rubber pads from falling off as well.

I read through this thread and I want to say I agree with your opinion on the Miata in traffic... About the NB. My NB was my second car and I had it on the highway plenty.
