I uhhh.... it just really seems like you don’t know much about this car. Especially if you’re now comparing it to a GT500, which is a boat. You can spend another $65k on top of either of those Mustangs if you want, but it’s still never going to be 2700lbs.
A Mach 1 Premium isn’t even in the same ballpark of performance as a Habu ND.
so good
That is not a car I would normally feel comfortable taking out in poor conditions!
On a dry, high-grip track, sure. On gravel or snow, a professional driver does not want ABS, and neither would you, with the proper training.
Just pull the fuse. I wire in a switch for the ABS fuse that I have mounted under the dash for my winter cars.
He is truly incredible. I based my rally driving style off of watching his own, back in 2005. But that means I also appreciate when people like you actually go and peel back the scorecards to see what happened to make him the “GOAT”.
yeah. When I’m doing stage rally driving, I can’t wear my contact lenses, they dry out. I have to wear glasses instead. The dry contacts is the only reason I notice that I’m not blinking.
Used to hear this from my father :)
My pushback: you cannot qualify a thing’s uniqueness. However, you *can* qualify the veracity of its claim to being unique.
“Why are cops allowed to drive over the speed limit?”
“We have extensive driver training, and we have better driving skills than you do”
I bought the base model (2016 Sport) and swapped in an OEM LSD, purchased from the parts dept.
The BRZ is a great car. ... But your recommendation reads like Stockholm Syndrome.
Holy shit, I *LOVE* you. You fucking nailed it. I have nothing else to say; you’ve covered it perfectly.
Mazda’s strategy was to build a strong, flexible engine that doesn’t need a high-gear-count transmission to be practical. They succeeded. A good low end means the trans isn’t constantly downshifting. Mazda’s engines consistently feel stronger at lower RPM than their competition.
Strongly disagree, but to each their own. German cars were my first love, btw.
I don’t do highway trips in my Miata, and it would be a real shame if I didn’t fit in it. I understand.
Having driven both extensively, I prefer the ND1 to the ND2. ND1 engine has a significantly stronger low end, which I bet helps a bunch for autocross. Then again, maybe the higher ND2 redline is more useful there...
Any car will last with appropriate maintenance. The hype for how bad BMWs are in terms of overengineering... is real. And you feel that while working on them.
Absolute rubbish. If you want it, you can make it work. I’ve raised two kids in 2+2's and Miatas. Though, yes, my spouse has an SUV.
