Same as any other Gawker media report that mentions fast food chains, the comments are filled to the brim with people saying how they “would never be caught dead” in such a place (in this case, Subway). But people seem to forget that Subway didn’t just magically appear with 10,000’s of stores overnight- it grew from

I can certainly appreciate the value of a cold open, HOWEVER, I’m glad you brought this up because there’s an opinion I’ve had on this for a long time:

I asked my friend the Tesla engineer about this, and he explained that since everything runs on a CAN bus, it is possible for someone to make an aftermarket "physical buttons" mod to replace the "car functions" controlled by the touchscreen.

YES. But in mech2, it doesn't work. I know you said you played mostly mercenaries- I played mostly mech2 and GBL. fortunately for you, mercenaries didn't have this problem as bad, but in mech2/GBL, the limit of the number of objects on screen (including projectiles) is VERY low. Low enough that three LRM20s fired at

Well we're talking about rapid fire machine guns here, right? :P So no, you won't kill anything with one shot, but it also means you won't be waiting in between targets for reloading time or cool-down time. It's definitely a get-in-close-and-fast loadout. Kill three assault mechs in 15-20 seconds, which is less time

You're 100% right. Sometimes I hate myself for doing this. It kind of ruined my enjoyment of mech 4 mercenaries mektek version. (Want to ruin it for yourself too? Best weapon loadout BY FAR is a LARGEBEAMLASER with as many LIGHTMACHINEGUNs as possible. (at least circa 2012, I don't know if they've updated it since

The AI sucks at it, unfortunately. I rarely used starmates, but what you want to give them is a some lasers that they can't run out of ammo for, and LRMs and streak SRMs so they can't miss. The fewer the number of weapons the better, usually.

I used to think the same- I would run mgun boats with 3 or even 4 tons of ammo sometimes, but eventually I realized that just wasn't necessary. A single mgun has a firing time of 25 seconds per ton of ammo, which is vastly more than any other rapid-fire ammo weapon- but the real shocking stat is damage/ammo or

If you're talking about the original Mech2, a Stormcrow with 7 machine guns with 2 tons of ammo each (for killing things that shoot back), and one mplas (for killing things that don't), along with 330XL engine, MASC, 2 jump jets, and one extra heat sink is enough to get through pretty much any mission in the game. But

6.) Auto Rev Match

I agree with you here wholeheartedly- but the second problem is that these midfield battles -at least in rally- are rarely televised! Last year, after NBC revealed that they would be televising Rally America events, we jokingly said we should change our goal from winning the Eastern Regional Championship that we were

Honestly, I have a hard time caring about spoilers. I'd rather see how a race plays out than hang everything on who won in the end. Who wins is nice to know, but what happened in the 620 miles in between? Isn't that the whole point of watching motorsports in the first place: to see how the trophies get won?

No question. Nice as they come most of the time, but still.

Actually, something similar to this has already happened:

Trust me, your thoughts and mine about noise are more similar than different. I've been aiming to keep my cars quiet for years. I turbo'd my miata _partly_ because the turbine would help to further quiet the STOCK exhaust, and the added power would allow me to run lower revs to get the same output.

Well... I've done that too. No one has complained about noise. I've been privy to this "noise complaint" groupthink since about 2009, and the one thing that's been true all along is that people have no idea what noise is or how it will affect them compared to how they think it will affect them.

I have two comments for this thread. First, The Transporter is absolutely right about how the housing developer insidiously destroys the town he works in- it's happening right now in mine.

Something people don't realize on their own is that being a good passenger is a skill, just as being a good driver is one. Rally co-drivers aren't just born, you know. It takes a lot of time and commitment in order to get to the point where you're not only comfortable being driven at speed -often by someone you've
