In any case, it makes me wonder if the old 850 is really that complicated by today's standards? Does your car have more computers, or are car companies better at organizing electronic brains than they were a couple decades ago?
Yes. Including some that still live the way they did before they made their fortunes. But, you won't hear them announcing it, because that's what "modesty" means.
Just a clarification:
In other minor complaints, I'd like to be able to shift gears with the lever. In a turn or away from a stop, it's sort of a natural impulse to reach down to the console. The paddles feel good and have a great weight, but the option to use the lever would be a nice touch.
In the days before touchscreen tablets, I used one of these to help me with tuning cars (with a laptop, obviously). It was more efficient than the touchpad in the confines of a car, especially if the car was moving.
