I don’t think anyone needs to watch a documentary to understand why people might find Apu unfunny or offensive. The problem I have with Kondabolu’s position is not that he holds it, but that he seems to think that he’s a pure representative of Indian-Americans. This notion that if one person with a platform finds

> Why do I need a $300 console to play years- to months- to weeks-old ports and late multiplatform games?

Man, even in the Marvel Universe of yore, Trump properties in Atlantic City were underwater.

In my opinion, integrity is how you act when it doesn’t matter just as much as when it does.

Imagine telling people in 2004 that a Black Panther movie would make more money in a week than a Justice League movie would make in its entire cinematic run.

“People of color being murdered by police and abandoned or outright persecuted by governments.”

You must have a pretty short sight because Captain Marvel is just around the corner with both a female lead and a female director. And just last year DC released Wonder Woman with the same.

But here’s the million dollar question will it include “Song of the South?”

I can shrug at April now being black (yes, I read that it was kind of ambiguous in the comics, but when I think of April, I think yellow jumpsuit and firey red hair).

It’s about it not mattering anymore and everyone just being represented realistically...

Given all that, taking one of the first Black Panther toy commercials and using a white kid as its central actor would be incredibly tone-deaf. It would reek of whitewashing, and of the tired notion that only white actors can sell to a wide audience.

The term “Black America” is a simple category made up of Black Americans. It’s a valid category in regards to demographics. If you are a Black American would you feel well represented if roughly 13% of people in media (overall) are black? I think this question can illustrate that a lot of vocal people on this topic

Is this where someone drops in a screen grab of the token black kids found in toy commercials going back decades?

The rebelle stuff? The weird thing is they’re actually much better designs than the regular nerf guns out now..but end up in bargain bins as they dont sell that well to girls* and the pink/sparkly colour scheme wont sell to boys.

you almost never see toy ads aimed at and starring black children, and starring as the leads no less.

Dude, this whole article comment thread proves his point - alternative POV is expressed -> summarily assessed as stupid -> guy should just stfu.

You can see the carpets farther back slightly clearer because previously the game’s soul was hanging in front of them. Or something.

“He’s a handsome, rich, athletic white guy with virtually endless resources at his disposal.” I think you making him being white more important than it is.

Niantic needs to be fired. Not having dedicated bandwidth for an event of this scale after earning over $1,000,000,000 in a year shows that they are in way over their heads and are actively damaging the Pokémon brand with their incompetence.

You’ve lost your mind. They turned a super outdated cheesy franchise (the first one was the only good one) into a modern masterpiece
