I don’t know that I would even characterize this as punching, and the down is debatable considering she probably got paid 100x what they did.

I probably would have called this “teasing” instead of scapegoating. I didn’t see any writers blaming Ortega for the conditions that led to the strike, and I didn’t see any executives blaming Ortega for the strike.

Yea this game would be so much better if it grappled with PTSD, war time sexual assault, the poor treatment of veterans, and the military industrial complex. And who better to deal with that subject than Nintendo.
Totally agree. And I was just thinking about how unethical it is to play a Mario game.
Honestly I don’t think anything. I think we’re now past the point of incredible graphical changes across generations.
Its a reasonable association given the vast numbers of bad faith anti woke white guys.
I’m all for trying to be as ethical as possible in consumption, but if we’re ranking evil corporations by how much damage they do to the world, any entertainment company is pretty far down the evil list, just because of the nature of the business.
Yea but I think it sounds bleaker in theory than it really is.
And there is also a much more recent history of film reviews being assigned to young generalist bloggers who aren’t necessarily seasoned film critics.
Is being clichéd actually a bad thing in a kids movie?
I also hated the bad faith takes on the show, but I do think it fell apart by the end.
Yea that seems like the appropriate take. It was fine if you wanted fantasy with great visuals, solid world building, and if you could look past below-average plotting and characterization.
I would argue its the usual place you end up when you spend $700 million on a show. The high price tag means everyone plays it too safe, and the product suffers.
Oh goody, another great young director who will be consigned to mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Can’t wait to see his work on Eternals 2: REternals.
“Respect yourself. Demand more from one of the wealthiest publishers on earth.”
How about "Respect yourself, and stop getting bent out of shape over marketing materials"
Can we please kill all “Fans are saying...” articles.
I can’t wait for this movie to totally destroy the idea that the first one was any good. Because I can tell you from the title alone that this is going to suck in a huge way.
Yes it is too much to ask. Being wealthy and famous is way too likely to either kill them or turn them into the worst version of themselves.
