If that ten year old gets inspired to make their own cinema because they watched Civil War, why wouldn’t we champion that?

Two main currents have risen to dominance in media during the 21st century as a result: 1) the demolishing of previous standards of elitism (often racist, sexist, and classist) via a mentality often loosely called “poptimism”
Everyone posting defensive comments on behalf of Netflix on Disney, please stop for 2 seconds and think about what it means that you feel the need to defend mega-corporations from criticism.
But now I have to create reminders to cancel service A and subscribe to service B, and so on. I spend enough time managing my life without adding that to it.
Yea I’m with you. People are acting as if more streaming services means you have to get all of them, and permanently.
They’re adding a cheaper “with ads” alternative version of HBO Max. Not inserting ads into the subscription you have.
Look there is a lot to dislike about Warner Bros, but I still don’t get the constant criticism of HBO Max’s content “not jibing” when that is also the case with Netflix, Prime, and Hulu, who all have massive collections of shows from about 500 different outlets with small amounts of their own programming.
They should cast the My Pillow guy next.
“But victims don’t owe the public their bared soul or excruciating detail to be believed.”
‘Listen, you’re much better at the game portions of it with Mario and all that stuff. Why don’t you let us take care of the hardware?’
Yea but we’re getting to the point where expressing concern about outrage is resulting in articles like this, instead of, you know doing something truly shitty.
She actually compared gay conversion to trans hormone therapy. Its a really shitty comparison, but its also drastically different than supporting gay conversion therapy, because the shitty point she’s failing to make is that hormone conversion therapy is as problematic as gay conversion therapy.
Yea but isn’t that because she’s been constantly on the defensive since the initial controversy?
“Clearly asking someone like J.K. Rowling nicely to re-consider her anti-trans stance and have compassion for people who are actively being murdered based on this harmful ideology isn’t working. Seems pretty reasonable to yell at her about it at this point.”
“Walt was never as self-evidently selfish, pathetic, and cowardly as Don”
Don’t even get him started on Seinfeld. Look at all of those whiny characters. And not once does anyone come right out and say “none of you deserve the audience’s respect.”
I really don’t get the “doesn’t know what it is” angle. What’s Prime Video’s identity? CBS All Access? Tubi? Crackle? Peacock.
Look you’re not wrong. It’s just that the kind of people who are aware that you can connect a controller to your phone and can afford to pay $60 for cloud pass to a game are also the kind of people that already own a library of games on a PlayStation, Xbox, or gaming PC.
Multiplayer games are definitely not the primary market, so I don’t think that’s the reason Stadia will fail. There’s a few reasons:
Yea that’s a great point, but I think Rockstar/TakeTwo is an example of a publicly traded company that maintains a significant amount of “fuck you” freedom from shareholders. You’re right that its nearly impossible, but Rockstar maintains the right balance of profitability and secrecy to give shareholders confidence…
