What’s shitty about it exactly? Were we not supposed to have fun with No Man’s Sky 2.0 in order to maintain the previous status quo?

Yea I feel like people forget they had two great games under their belt. Games that were best known for their writing, not their finely tuned gameplay systems and polish.
More money, more expensive, worthless executives that justify their salaries by piling on to project workloads by adding half formed “ideas” that developers already had and opted against to maintain a realistic schedule. That’s how you become like everyone else
Sure! As long as its at the bottom, you wily contrarian.
Yea “negativity” around DS2 and DS3 is largely manufactured to rank 3 almost perfect games.
Yea but an RPG character is still a character. I haven’t played much DnD, but most people don’t just play themselves, right? They’re stepping into another character’s shoes and acting like them. So there’s a level of consistency that comes with a person thinking like another person, rather than thinking like a list of…
Good insight, and thanks, I’ll check out Stereogum. I’ve been looking for better music coverage since Pitchfork turned into the 3500th outlet for Taylor Swift news.
The reason I discovered the AV Club was their old Random Rules segment, which was based on a Silver Jews song. I suspect many of the current music writers do not know who the Silver Jews are.
Well when you put it that way, I guess there was a reason I painstakingly handcrafted this...
Look I’m not saying Stadia is bad... I’m just saying its doomed.
Stick with a controller if you are going to play 2077 on Stadia via your phone.
Yea. A great example is this:
Also let’s not forget good old fashioned greed. Niches like the antivax world can be lucrative, with lots of opportunities for speaking fees, youtube ads, book sales, and an immediate boost of thousands fans who will be loyal as long you tell them what they want to hear.
The reality is that Gunns comments are more dangerous to the Disney brand than Wright’s and Caranos. Their family friendly image is more important to Disney than the health of those families.
They’re still “poorly educated actors having poorly educated thoughts,” but they are amplified and spread...
Look I despise conspiracy theory culture, Anti-Vax culture, just asking the question culture, Joe Rogan, Alex Jones, the flat earth movement, the moon landing “skeptics”, the ancient aliens “historians” that can’t accept that brown people built cool stuff too, birthers, truthers, QAnons, and the people that have been c…
To me, the sketchiness of microtransactions (and to a much lesser extent DLC) was offset by the deep discounts that also became the norm with digital stores. I find I’m more than happy to ignore microtransactions when I’m paying $15 for a $60 game.
Total Warhammer 2 is also a great example. Their DLC packs are relatively cheap, have well designed heroes or entire factions that fundamentally change how the core campaign is played. And each DLC pack is released at the same time as a free hero and major patch, so you get something whether you buy in or not.
I think Leguizamo is sneakily an all time great actor that has never had a career defining role. Interested to see what he does behind the camera.
Yea I wouldn’t be concerned with that. Lore and cannon bait doesn’t goose numbers. Adorable marketable things like Baby Yoda do, because they appeal to the vast majority of people who don’t give a shit about lore or cannon.
