My first car, and gateway drug to wrenching was a 1980 Series III Jag XJ6. It had a weak sauce 305cu-in Chevy V8. And rusty floors. But I miss it to this day.

I was going to vote CP before reading the article - just by headline and first pic. But then I figured, I’ll read it and find out what sort of forded induction this has to justify that price.

I’ve been working on cars for many years, really since I was a kid learning as my dad did things. And I’m honestly not sure how to answer this question. I suppose it’s really relevant to see it from the context of what the end goal is...so maybe there are multiple answers.

So how hard are these really to keep on the road? Especially for someone with a high level of automotive repair skill?

So it’s $25k, and needs a $500 “leak” repair. $500 is only 2% of the asking price. Why not fix it before selling it? Then you don’t have to say the negatives and try to explain it away as not a big deal.

An Infinity Particle was passing through our plane of existence right as the picture was taken!

Cool! Yeah I kinda forget...I know alot converted their Marauder gauges to Sport Comp II full sweeps to get LED backlighting and the full sweep motion

Oh, dang...yes that would be annoying!

Most Ford’s in later years that have an oil pressure gauge don’t actually show the oil pressure. They are basically oil pressure lights designed as a gauge.

Here’s one - early Jaguar XJ6's had dual fuel tanks. For instance/example, the Series 3 Jaguar XJ6 (1980-1987) still had dual fuel tanks - two chrome pop up fillers on either side of the topside of the rear quarter panel.

There was a switch on the dash to go between them. So you could be cool and be like “oh look we

I want one of these, but a 300C with the V8. Preferrable the SRT version.

For the steering column, is the play up/down movement in the tilt column?

You can always just take the hood off Roadkill style

Regarding the ATF out the transfer case output seal - you are sure that’s the cause? Only reason I state is I don’t think you’ve driven or moved this thing much so far - when sitting isn’t the tx-case fluid level below the output?

Sounds good :)

Good point - if it was never registered I wonder if the manufacturer (GM) would have records as to where the VIN was headed?

How does that work? I’m not familiar with it...

Totally agree on the deposit! I’m actually surprised they stuck it out that long to get you the title. Anytime I hear “we’ll work out the title after the sale” - No thanks!

I would imagine if you link to the state’s title rules in the ad, and are honest, most buyers won’t have an issue. I know my state has rules for getting a car titled from a state without a title, so presenting the information shouldn’t deter real buyers

This may seem weird to any group outside of gear/petrol heads, but I often dream of “stumbling” across old cars while hiking in the woods, lol. I know there are ways to get them titled in most states, it can be tough, but potentially worth it.
