That’s largely because no one really knows until a shooting war starts. Or, until one side gets a hold of one from the other side... in which case none of us joe-public hears about what’s learned until decades later. Like how the Mig-25 gave NATO allies a big scare back in the day until they got a hold of one after…

Technical comparisons are fine but they leave out the most important factor and that is pilot skill, US pilots will run rings around Russian pilots all day and then there’s the issue of how well the planes are maintained and I suspect mother Russia might suffer from a poor logistics train

Probably comparable to the Generation 4+ birds: the Eurofighter Typhoon or the Dassault Rafale. The best comparison is probably the F-15SA. It’s a solid Generation 4 airframe, but the overhaul under the skin is so substantial that it’s almost a whole new bird.

The pipeline theory is a myth - the gas that would be going to Europe from Qatar would become highly uncompetitive. It looses it`s economic edge once the pipe reaches 250km mark. LNG imports would be/are much cheaper.
