Funny story, looking up the history of the child tax credit, the biggest boosts after initial passing in 1997 were made in 2001, 2003 and 2017.

If people liked the child tax credit, they might consider voting in enough of the party that gave it to them so they could keep it.

America’s the equivalent of someone who’s gotten an arm ripped off during a car accident and they simply don’t understand why the knockoff Spongebob Squarepants adhesive bandage they’ve delivered isn’t being treated like the manna from Heaven it so obviously is. Republicans wouldn’t even give you a bandage!!

That was me riffing on how every time there’s an article on “Billionaire’s wealth goes up billions more!” water carriers have to keep reminding us “but it’s not liquid wealth!”

Yup, my bad there.  Even when I think it’s so obvious...it isn’t.

But his wealth’s not liquid! He can’t just give it to his employees.

I understand wanting the president to “do something”, but what you’re suggesting takes the ball out of the president’s hands and very well makes the situation worse, for instance by potentially injunctively removing the freeze.

Gee, at least they went with “avocado toast” rather than “drugs” or “alcohol”...that’s usually the reaction to free money...

I mean, Biden’s a lost cause.  It sure would be nice if his water carriers would start realizing he’s -not- acting in good faith over this at least.
