I don’t understand this article—other than to jump on the anti-BMW circlejerk bandwagon. Not worth it how? If it’s the price there isn’t one posted nor does the article mention the suspension tweaks or the revised exhaust or how this is any different than what BMW’s competitors do with the S package on the E63 or the

They must have great WiFi in the FCA service center because I can always count on you being unable to keep your foot out of your mouth in any post slightly negative to a FCA car

They haven’t. There are still a bunch of posts on Giulia forums about issues

Like an old man’s car? Have you driven a current M3?

Oh you mean like these:

Yeah, you caught us. A bunch of car enthusiasts who dig the Prius. Like a true car enthusiast, we all appreciate that it’s only relevant how exciting it is when you can actually drive it. Fortunately most carmakers other than FCA have us covered on that front.

But lately the entire BMW lineup has been turbocharged, and while modern M cars are very quick and have a ton of low-end torque, that revvy character isn’t really a thing anymore.

TIL posting factual financial information about leasing a car is considered trashing

Technically, 997.2 switched to direct injection. 991s just continued it. The problem is if you don’t get one with direct injection then you have to deal with the IMS bearing issue.

Pretty brand agnostic yet you dick ride Alfa in every single thread they’re mentioned in.

Really? How many other brands have released brand new cars that have literally shit the bed for multiple journalists (Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Jalopnik, and Consumer Reports)? Such high scrutiny to expect a brand new car to work.

I don’t want a full-size Autobahn bruiser like an M5 or an RS7, but I get the appeal and why they exist. It’s not like BMW gave up making small, relatively lightweight performance cars and only makes 4,000 pound luxocruisers now. If you want something small and agile, buy an M2.

Perhaps 4000 lbs of 70K “sports car?” Was that meant to be comprehensible?

Who even upvotes crap like this? The car weighs hundreds of pounds less than the car its replacing and much less than the competition and you complain about weight.

When BMW said that (presumably 2004-2006), Porsche certainly wasn’t making 500 horsepower out of a NA 6. The 996 GT3 made 360 and was nearly twice the price of the M3.

What does the rate at which a car is resold have to do with craftsmanship?

Any reliability rating chart that shows Volkswagen and Ford above Toyota and Nissan right after Toyota is full of shit. Most modern reliability ratings that I’ve seen place BMW above average.

A 911 (a) isn’t really a M4 competitor (see ATS-V, C63 or the new Alfa) and (b) weighs between 3200 and 3300 pounds.

The F8x is lighter than all of its competitors and almost identical in weight to the E46...Not sure how you could reasonably claim its overweight

Not sure how familiar you are with lap times but on a sub 2 minute circuit, 2 seconds is a fairly significant difference. Also, an M3's base price is roughly $10,000 more, not $20,000 more. Plus, four doors if that matters to you.
