My understanding was that the salt lamps emitted negative ions when heated (by a tealight, for example), which neutralised harmful free radicals. It always sounded plausible to me!

First, leave camp inhumanly early to start your day. Some of the best wildlife experiences and stunning views happen before most folks have rolled out of their tent / RV / whatever and getting golden hour shots will set your photos apart from the crowd.
