Also, it’s not the “real” Muppets. There are no puppets, none of the performers worked on it, and it had its own creative staff with little to no overlap with the main Muppet productions. It was a very good Saturday morning cartoon, but it’s not a great Muppet thing.

I agree! I like both of these albums — I hope that came across in the piece.

Tom Petty had a pretty good run of around two decades at least.

Plenty of artists under the radar have done consistently good work over 20-50 years, but following one’s own muse means a revival once in a while but not widespread acceptance.

I was gonna say Tom Waits, but then I saw you said “financially” and I don’t know if he’s quite that big money-wise.

I know, right?
She’s totally gonna wear out her accordion!!

I mean if you think of the stuff the classic 60s artists were releasing in the mid-80s, well...Beck and Weezer’s latest albums aren’t really that bad, 20-25 years out is often a rough time for rock bands.

I retroactively love The Who. Actually, these days I really like a lot of classic rock I disdained or ignored in my 80's Depeche Mode etc. phase. I respect/understand more now how damn talented guys like Roger Daltry and Pete Townsend were.

Listened to some Who for the first time in a looooooong time the other day.

I imagine I’m right smack dab in the demographic that should go for new Weezer and Beck albums, seeing as their first albums came out when I was a teenager and I loved both of them. They’ve kind of dropped off my listening list over the past 20ish years though, I mostly listen to newer stuff now.

It’s clear when Richie Reich came out he was taken aback that the interviewer was black, and immediately showed that he’d done no research or preparation for the interview. Coupled with the “not an Englishman” digs it’s clear he was out of his comfort zone and upset that he’d have to try and get his shitty talking

America was named after Amerigo Vespucci, who “discovered” South America (landing around Rio de Janeiro). At some point, cartographers just decided to extend the name across the entire landmass, which is how we ended up with North, Central, and South America.

There are a lot of indigenous groups and therefore a lot of

I really don’t understand how he can say “But it’s not your home” about anyone when I’m pretty sure he’s not Native American and his ancestors come from a different land than where he currently resides. It’s just insane that he thinks that logic makes sense. “Your ancestors are from Africa so America/Britain is not

Good. The Richard Spencer/Charles Murray/Breitbart type of racist wants desperately to be cool. Their entire modus operandi is trying to rebrand the image of “racist” from toothless hick into cool pop culture leader. (These guys are all either failed comics, screenwriters, or academics). They want to be Stephen

He’s black so he’s not an englishman? Richard isn’t Native American so I guess by his own argument he’s not an American.

I certainly won’t be paying anything close to full price for the comic, that’s for sure. It’s interesting that DC seem to have barely promoted what was surely meant to be a high profile comic.

I have a lot of complicated emotion about the Bendis announcement, chief among them that he shouldn’t be allowed to create his own characters or write anyone that doesn’t look like him for at least a year. The man needs to go on probation and earn some trust back.

Silly me, trying to apply logic to these guys. I guess it’s just my weak woman brain, huh.

You certainly can create an actionable plan:

Well that one dude was domestic violence guy. So was the Las Vegas maybe.
