I need to make sure I choose the best attorney for my mesothelioma.

It's so depressing but not at all surprising. I know my brother was never expected to clean or be responsible for any family labor. Familiar and societal expectations set these guys up for marital failure and it's just really sad to me.

Are there really that many people with structured settlements? Serious question, how many of these things are there that you can base a whole business off of scamming people out of them?

Keeper.

This is exactly the opening to The End of Men. Hanna Rosin interviews a single mom, and she basically says exactly that. She cannot afford to feed another person on her income when that person is contributing exactly zero to the household.

Hooray for the upcoming move! Let him find out the hard way how gross his habits are, and how much work he is to clean up after. I guess ants are something you just can't ignore, no matter how somebody else's fault it is. *shudder!*

Of course it's me! I'm the big sister and as a lady it is my duty to clean because something, but mostly I just clean the kitchen because how the fuck do they manage to get EVERY SURFACE sticky. I like where I make/eat my food to be free of nests of ants so I cleans. Also I mostly only do it when the smell gets so bad

It's my money and I want it now!

I think it's still quite important to note if women are vastly more likely than men to be working full-time as caretakers without getting a paycheck for it.

Too right. So many guys STILL think they deserve a medal for emptying the dishwasher once a year on Mom's birthday, or bringing home takeout McDonald's when Mom's sick with the flu.... Usually the same guys who call it "babysitting" when they're asked to take care of their own children.

I once had a boyfriend who used to do the dishes without me asking him... Total neat freak, used to hang his death-metal t shirts on hangers in alphabetical order by band. I'm a cavegirl and a slob, so it this worked out great. I used to feel bad about exploiting his neat-freak problem, but that didn't last long.

Educating themselves about what, the best spots to hide in CoD?

modern human civilization has been built on the idea of women doing the backstage work while men shine on stage.

I love Law and Order so much that I just sang along with the first part of your comment.

My (male) partner is unemployed and I (female) am employed full time. He makes me breakfast, packs my lunch for work, does the dishes and most of the laundry, vacuums, helps me with the groceries and sometimes helps me with dinner. I am kind of glad he's unemployed, to be honest.

My husband does a greater amount of the chores than I do, but he and I have different tolerance levels for messiness, and while I enjoy relaxing he cannot sit still. He asked me to clean my closet out on New Years Day, the one day I truly had off in 3 weeks. Nope, nope, nope.

I forgot I'd read this before, but I'm sure it's where I first got the idea that I need a wife. Thank you!

I seriously know so, so many women (many with children) who just refuse to have men around anymore. I can see what they're saying, it basically saves time. Women are working now and doing the housework so if men are only working professional they're still leaving a fuckload of housework for their SO. So she gets to

This! This is why marriage is in decline for lower income people. Single women/single mothers are trying to make it work on one income, but they (the heterosexual ones at least) aren't attaching themselves to a man because men are useless. If Hanna Rosin is right and we've reached the end of men, it seems like it
