Not sure I’d call it intuitive. There is nothing obvious just looking at the system that makes it clear which way it should lay if being placed horizontally. Especially when it is kind of unstable and wobbly on its stand even in the correct orientation.

I changed the plates on the outside to be black and think it looks much better.  However, the shape is just nonsensical.  It should not require a stand just to lay horizontal.  And it’s not even particularly stable on the stand either.  Very wobbly and easily turned.

This! Just look through the comments here. Most people just wanted to the extra power for higher and more stable frame rates and some HDR. There are relatively few expecting true native 4K rendering.  Yet all the arguments against a “4K” upgrade are basically, “No one even has a 4K TV”… which isn’t even true

And really, what, exactly, would the Switch even use 4K for? Sure, the specs sound nice on paper, but the reality is that Nintendo largely does not produce high-fidelity games that require that kind of resolution.

HDR is a bigger game changer, and you can run HDR on 1080P games.

Nah, they almost certainly are. Just like Sony and MS are working in their future consoles. MS has in fact already said so. The rumors were likely either coming from the development of both systems or they pushed the spec upgrade down the road due to chip shortages and decided to just release this version with

For me it is less about the 4K specifically, but rather what it represents in terms of overall capability. The Switch already struggles to run games at standard HD resolutions.

Well, I am applying my own experiences and interests with the birds eye view. I generally know what genres and devs I like. So for something like the latest Ratchet & Clank where I’ve loved everything in the series and enjoyed pretty anything Insomniac has done maybe I won’t read much of anything. And, perhaps

They are correct. Most reviews sites don’t have time to review everything. As a result they tend to focus on AAA titles or games that garnered some kind of hype pre-release because reviewing those will draw the clicks.

I use the “useless” numbers as a birds eye view of a game’s reception. It’s just a filter. If a game is getting overall good reviews I might then dive into a few reviews and see what the game is about. The scores help me save time the of reading endless reviews.

It really is.  I love it.

That’s arguably how it has always been. When I was a kid and couldn’t just hit up the internet for the latest reviews or talk about games I often had to go to a store and just browse to see what was out. Yes, there was some word of mouth and monthly mags, but info wasn’t literally at my finger tips like it is now.

I think Sony does think this way, but that is really only an excuse for their own games.  What we have here are a bunch of third party devs saying Sony doesn’t do anything to help them sell their own games.  It doesn’t seem like Sony needs to make any big bets to be more helpful to other devs on their storefront.

The thing that sucks is that at the end of the day this strategy works out in Sony’s favor. I was really close to getting a Series X, but I’ve become hooked on so many Sony franchises that I couldn’t turn my back on their next gen sequels.

literally in this case tends to be used as a hyperbole, and we get it. But, “couldn’t care less” and “Could care less” have two literally different meanings.

Oh boy, do I have a write up on that for you.

You are on the wrong side of this. You are encouraging “literally” to be a standard in place of “figuratively”.

But it sounds like they agreed to take only $50 a month. Considering the $2.1M judgement that seems very lenient. He was never going to pay off the whole amount at $50/month so it seems like Nintendo didn’t really want to destroy the guy’s life at all.  He probably should have just made the payments.

Have you been in pretty much any store? Items like ice cream and other frozen goods are often in aisles. As are often the tub coolers with turkeys and such. They have no problems placing refrigerated goods basically anywhere they want yet, yes, dairy is nearly always at the back.

I honestly didn’t think you were trying to shit on the game. I was just saying that in terms of SSD/loading speeds R&C is kind of doing something we haven’t seen before. I was kind of blown away watching that DF video and finding out that on that crystal level the PS5 is dumping the entire level and loading a new
