Amiibos in general are BS IMO. It’s one thing to collect them, but it’s another to tie DLC or in-game rewards to them. It’s just a way to get you spend more for something that would otherwise be cheaper or even free (as seen here). Thankfully some NTAG215s solves this problem nicely.

Does this stuff not show up on Google maps there?  Around here any food trucks are pretty quick to show up on Google Maps.  Occasionally when I’m feeling hungry and not sure what I want or want something different I just hit up Google Maps and look at everything near me.

Yeah, I’ve read more about it and the AI was apparently trained using dash cam footage. But that kind of ruins the photorealistic claim. I mean, yeah, it’s literally been trained to look camera footage, but most dash cams are pretty crappy. They are definitely not what I think of when I think “photorealistic”.

I ended up buying some 3rd party black plates for the sides.  It looks MUCH better.  Even the odd shape just kind of disappears when the whole system is black which is really what I want. Just be there unobtrusively in the background.

To be fair it looks a little sexier with the blue lights on, shame that’s just for startup and they change to white.
