You don’t have to defend it against uses that are clearly different.  That only applies if you don’t protect it against uses that are likely to cause consumer confusion.

Back in the day you did! When you ran out of lives. And only your personal experience carried over.

But those games don’t force you to do nearly everything over. You know the difference. My point was you can add permadeath to any of those games and they would take much longer. Imagine if you had to start a Mario game completely over every time you fell down a hole. That’s a rogue like.

But he could know all that stuff without recognizing the actual hardware.  The two aren’t inextricably linked. I’m not surprised at all he knows what they look like, but it does seem like a pointless court proceeding.

The problem with your argument is that is based almost entirely on sagging Steam sales during the period if was free on EGS. Which according to you, and I’ll trust your numbers here, was an average of 1500 per month for Subnautica. Or, at best, 7000 for the month prior (why that spike?). But with the EAS deal they

Ah… OK. I thought that was a window where you could dash before the animation became unskippable.

But that’s not to say these are 30 minute and 4 hour games; that’s after a player has racked up much more in total playtime through trial and error

Honestly, this kind of poor decision making is on the player.

You CAN take a break. You can put the entire console in rest mode and come back right where you left off. The game updating and ruining your run is not “taking a break” and is a not a common occurance. You just seem like you want to whine.

Maybe they could build in a suspend feature that would allow you to save and quit and then it gets deleted when you load it so you can’t save scum but could still take a break?

Having a quick save feature doesn’t make the game any easier.  Your gripe is nonsense.

They are acting as gatekeepers. And they are idiots.

Yeah, the more I read about this game the more I’m satisfied with my decision to not buy.  I know plenty of people are loving it and that’s great, but I don’t need this kind of BS.

I liked it.  I think part of that was I went in with very low expectations due to the source material and low reviews.  So it ended up being better than I expected.  I think my main complaint is that it felt like an incomplete movie.  It felt like it was an excerpt from a larger story that was stretched out a bit.

Oh my.

Is this a new thing for The Show? I only know of the series by its reputation as the best baseball game on the market. I’ve considering giving it a shot since I can try it out on GP.  But I’m not interested in a sports game that depends on loot boxes.

Cis white women are a safe option. They are just as much the default as the white men they replace.

I was already leaning heavily toward not buying based on the fact it is a roguelike and I do not like those in general, but no saves? No thanks. I’m out. I don’t have the time or patience to bang my head on those two rocks

The ability to both play and offer improvements to existing libraries is really helping out the new systems. I think most people are understanding of the fact that the pandemic has interfered with game development and, for the time being, are willing to wait on new games and simply enjoy the various QoL improvements

I was about to ask the same thing.  I haven’t had any issues with my PS5 and sleep mode.
